Apparently leading the NFL in rushing isn't enough for some fans. Give me a break.

I think most fans don't want to run him into the ground. Gonna need him in December.. And he gotta cure the fumbling issue..

he has the vision and speed to run 75 yard touchdowns behind this line..

just put him in on running plays...not pass protection.

defensive minds like Crennel would never pick up on that. Great idea! sort of like when Tashard Choice used to come in for the wildcat, you would never guess what he was going to do!

It really allows the defense to load up for the run as a pass is highly unlikely, and the exposure of Romo has to come into your mind.

The next two games are going to be hard, Seattle away, and Giants at home. I hope Murray can get through those games healthy, because the Commanders follow.

It's a catch 22 I guess. The coaches must feel Dunbar and Randle can't be productive enough to take some of the load so you have to keep Murray in. The OP has a good point though, what is Murray going to be like in December if he makes it THAT far. It's going to be interesting to say the least.

there are some teams you can spread and back them off but others like Houston that have a strong passrush you dont have that cushion to let routes develop down the field and you have to be careful throwing in the flats because the db are sitting on those. those are Dunbar and Harris territory but they avoided that today. they went with more protection and straight up attack. next week may be more of the same if the Seahawks have success pressuring Romo early

Doesn't look like "THAT" guy? Well the stat box says he's playing like that guy, the defense he tore up this game says he's that guy. Yes he's on a ridiculous pace at some point they need to figure out a way to scale him back but they priority has to be to win and he's the league's leading rusher

I love that we are committing to the run. I love that we are allowing the OL...the strength of this team....to impose their will. I love the REAL DeMarco Murray. BUT.....BUT...I do not love the DeMarco Murray we are pretending exits. It is only week 5. And I felt for the entire game...he did not show the burst he showed the first 4 games. This will NOT get better. It will only get worse. This is not even about the fumbles....which are bad! This is about the workload we are placing on a guy who is not built for this. And there is NOTHING wrong with admitting someone is not built for this. In today's NFL..not many guys are built for this. If you got RBs on this team that cannot produce...or who you do not trust...then you picked the wrong guys. We appear to be poised to make a legitimate playoff run this year. And the DeMarco Murray we saw for the first month will not exist in a few weeks if we keep this up. I...nor the rest of the fans on this forum.....get paid a dime for our opinions. But I am highly irritated the the paid PROFESSIONALS in this organization are not forecasting what I think is the inevitable law of diminishing returns.

I will never forget when Bill Parcells put Julius Jones through a 3 game stretch....starting with the Ravens and i believe the Bears on Thanksgiving Day(forgot who the 3rd team was)....that essentially ended his PRODUCTIVE career. Most guys are NOT built for this. The defenders in the modern day NFL are too big, fast and strong to try and replicate what Emmit Smith gave you. If you do not like/trust Randle/Dunbar/Williams....then why are they collecting a paycheck? With this OL...you should easily be able to plug a NFL caliber RB and get 4 - 5 yards. Murray is running 25+ times a game....he is the 3rd down RB responsible for blitz pickup (which is mentally and physically taxing)....and he is catching the ball out the backfield.

I repeat...it is week 5...and he already looks a step slow to me from what we saw in the past few weeks.

And don't get me started on the DEFLATING fumbles. In the redzone no less!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Take a Xanax and get a good night sleep dude. We won and we wouldn't have won without Murray. Pretty simple, play your best players and Murray is our best running back and best blocking running back. Let someone crush Romo because Murray isn't in there on a blitz pickup and this season is over.[/quote]

Reduce his carries to 20 a game. Throw it too him 3 or 4 times. And limit his blitz pickup collisions to 7 - 8 a game. Otherwise...you run the risk of him being a JAG by week 8!

Agreed. Guy can't house anything.

Lol, I don't think I've ever seen so many negative posts about a player that's playing #1 at his position. This is crazy.

The fumbles are a huge problem. He needs to fix it or be benched.

you cannot keep giving a back the ball 25 plus carries a game in todays nfl. he is on track to have 400 carries or nearly so this year. You look back in history at RBs that carry that much in one season and 95% of the time they are never that good again.

The guy is breaking records, busting his tail, & was a big reason we won today, & you're STILL complaining. I guess there's no pleasing everyone. Emmitt carried a far bigger load when he was here. That's what they pay Murray for. Spell him a bit more, but he IS the feature back.

I agree, people seem to just complain about everything. have a big win, and still complain. Dez gets a touch down and still complain that he isn't doing enough, murray leads the NFL in rushing non the less and he still isn't the man for the job.
We finally seem to have a successful strategy and success running and murray is not the right man for the job according to people.

Whats funny about some folks is that they already want to trade him NOW since he has value. I think thats kinda silly.

This could indeed become an issue but Randle is clearly not ready for prime-time blocking. Can Dunbar and Williams handle what is asked right now? I won't argue the curse of 370, let alone the other things he is currently doing for the Cowboys offense, but not using him in important 3rd down situations might make Dallas much less effective in short-yardage. You might be damned if you do and damned if you don't. The Dallas o-line is good but I would not make them "all world" just yet. How much of the rushing is the line and how much the back? Same way with Emmitt and the 90's o-line. We see what he can do at the second level and beyond. That said, Randle only had two carries today, but the noise has reached Jones, who has interjected that the other backs should be worked into the mix. I expect that this will soon become evident, though I still think you need Murray in there on third downs. What he does is too important for keeping the chains moving.

Frankly, I think you spell him on second down, if anything, but he his such a complete back right now that on third down, how can his threat to break the defense not help the entire offense function at a higher level?
