Probably not with who’s making the decisions for the Cowboys.

If we’re handicapped in the front office and sidelines it certainly won’t make it easier if we have a QB who needs more support either.

The Cowboys have an opportunity to build a more talented team that isn’t as dependent on a greater coach elevating them.

But you can’t miss in the draft. And the key positions must be elite hits.

Yep. The only exception is dominating defenses.

The Cowboys have failed to draft or obtain an elite QB or build a dominating defense and why we hovered around mediocre this era.

A couple of times we’ve made a bigger push but everything had to align perfectly and we still were knocked off by more elite talent.

I do agree that dominating defenses are also the other exception.

It's just so hard to depend on defense. You have to acquire the right players that can play well within the rules in a league that stacks the odds against them.

Of course it’s tougher. But some teams are doing it because they have a better eye for talent and a keener sense of their priorities.

That’s where the leadership from front office and coaching staff makes a Huge difference and where the Cowboys have suffered the most.

How much better is our defensive if 1st round draft picks like Clairborne, Jones and Taco are big hits and 2nd round picks like Jaylon and Gregory solid starters?

Those decisions are huge and how great teams are built.

How good would our offense be if we’d missed on our OL or RB in 1st rounds ?

It’s all about the draft and the assembling of talent.

I will never forgive him for his Sean Taylor comments, but I can move past them for the talent he is. He is good at what he does. Ruptured blood vessels on CZ, or otherwise

sure a GREAT coach can overcome adversities that cripple other teams. its also probably a joint effort in those cases eg; the coach says we need ______ x and the GM & scouts or whoever put it together
not to mention they might have good depth from previous good drafting

but you have to have a very good qb (like you said) either/and/or a very good defense
Rodgers would prob have 3 or 4 rings if he had a strong defense that year

last year the Eagles were fortunate to have depth at tackle and qb but they also had a great line and strong defense plus good coaching

Regardless... We don't have good coaching and our talent is good but it's not good enough to impose itself over the top teams of the NFC without a strategy better then our guys lining up and beating their guys.

This is beginning to sound like we are expecting our coaching staff to develop a strategy to upset the top teams?
