How is he full of crap? He added the qualifier of getting 'something respectable'. Oakland offered him more money; there's a lot that goes into a decision like this.

Any one of you who says he'll sign with Dallas for 5 mil a year as opposed to 8 with Philly is an idiot and likely won't be successful in any business world. For what? A Superbowl ring that is nowhere near guaranteed and that you would probably sell for $35,000 in 10 years when you're destitute and your body is broken down?

I don't understand why it is so hard for people to get it.

The Cowboys did what they thought was the best for the team by not going over what they thought was a fair price. They did not do it because they did not like Murray. They did not do it because they could not afford it.

Murray did what he thought what he thought was best for his and his families best interest in what is likely to be his last contract.
He did not do it to spurn the Cowboys or because he hates the owner, coach or team. Nor was he forced to leave. He chose to leave and they chose to let him.

Trying to assign blame to either party to fit your own agenda is pretty foolish.

But hey... That is just my opinions so it what it is

Probably the most level headed post of the day. Kudos to you sir

Well, if that is true I can hold going the Philly against him.

He took a little less to play with a better team. I don't hold that against him, but I think he went to Philly for a better chance of winning and to spite Dallas.

we have the right parts to have almost any decent RB run behind this OL. Murray was good but not great....move on.

draft a RB and add DL in FA

THank you but when Romo gets dinged, I'll remind you, you gave moved on.

So he truly believes he has a better chance to win a SB in Philly? and it wasn't about the money? Interesting

No.

And I think it was pretty clear that he doesn't truly think that. In fact, when the reporters asked him (2x btw)- "so you're saying the Eagles have a better chance to win the Superbowl than the Cowboys?", he wouldn't even commit to a "yes". He just kept sayin that he thought the Eagles had a great chance to win it.

Obviously, he wasn't going to stand in front of the Philly media and say "well yea, I'd rather play for Dallas, and they're in a better place right now, but ya'll offered more money, so here I am".

So Dallas offered him essentially a few million more than their slot receiver.

Now this team has to change focus from defense to RB.

Just when I was thinking Jerry Jones grew a brain.

$40+ million with $20 million guaranteed is now considered a "few" million more than $13 million and $7 guaranteed?

Before you get emotional and bash the man, please watch his PC. He literally spends half the time talking about his love for the Cowboys and his brothers on the team. There is no question he would be a Cowboy if he got a respectable offer from us. I really hope this new money strategy doesn't backfire because Murray is 10x the professional guys like MBIII and Leonard Davis were.

I really couldn't care less who he thanks. Break a leg or two in Philly. He is dead to me just like every other cowboy that leaves, except DeMarcus!

He probably went to Philly because they were paying 3 mil more per year then Dallas and the other two teams in the game offering more the Philly had zero chance of making the playoffs and basically suck.

Fisher said Dallas' best offer was 6 million a year and they wouldn't budge from that.

The significant difference might have been the guaranteed money offered by the Cowboys and Eagles.

He's full of crap. Claiming it wasn't about the money, but his chance to win a Super Bowl.

Sure. Great guy.

That called Chip Kelly himself and told him how he wanted to play in Philly....ALSO.....

"I felt that this was a great opportunity for me to win a Super Bowl, at the end of the day," Murray said Thursday at his introductory news conference. "It wasn't about the financial security or anything like that."

^Great guy. Cowboys basically won in Green Bay and Eagles were watching at home....And it's a "great opportunity to win a super bowl." He's a prick. I hope he gets injured the first play of the season. He insulted our team and his Oline by saying that.

I for one, vote that we delete the press conference. Don't care what he said in it to cover up the crap he said above.

for the love of God you guys are smarter than this.

when he says he has a chance to win a Super Bowl there, why do you take that as a slight against Dallas? he's obviously comparing the situation in Philly to his other RESPECTABLE offers...aka Jacksonville, Oakland, etc....Dallas is not in the equation. is there something wrong with saying he has a better chance to win in Philly than Jacksonville/Oakland so he took the lesser of the three deals? that's the truth.

if you want to look at some who is classless, go read Lesean McCoy's comments since Philly traded him.

I find Murray standing there saying it had nothing to do with money more than a bit hypocritical. From day one it was always about money.

Other than that agreed.

I can't think of one instance where an NFL player ever said "yeah I left because the money is better here" Cmon.

It hurts but you can't give a guy that much money when it's most likely you get 1 good full season out of him throughout the whole 5 years of the contract. I don't think there is anyways he makes it to the end of the contract.
