*** Demarco Murray Thread ***

He played unbelievable. It reminded me of when miles came in for Roy against kc. Murray broke all time cowboys rushing record. I don't care if it's against the rams. Not even emmitt had this high of yardage. Let's see what this kid can do for the rest of the season

I agree with the Miles comparison. The numbers for Murray are fairly insignificant when trying to gauge what Murray can become. It's HOW he got those numbers that matter.

Clearly a physically gifted player, Murray displayed a lot of good traits today. Vision, cutback ability, speed, balance, power.

At the very least, I think we've got ourselves a new starting running back who we can be pretty excited about.

so was emmitt a fat piece of crap when he held out thru the regular season?

i hate when fans like you sit on your couch and speak on issues you have no clue about. you are not in his shoes, so you wouldn't understand he is looking out for his family in the long run by getting some security while playing a sport and a position that could end his ability to provide for his family any second.
Yeah, like the worthiness of Laurent Robinson to be a 3rd WR.

Just remember it was against the worst rush defense in the NFL. Impressive yes, but lets keep it in perspective.

The perspective is the biggest running day in the 51 year history of the franchise.

Just a word of caution even though I think this guy is the real deal and will be our starting RB.

actually 2 words

Julius Jones.

Remember how good he was those 6 games; especially games 2 vs Chicago (150 yds) and #3 vs Seatle (197 yds, 3 TDs, the last winning the game with seconds to go).
I thought he was the real deal. Nuts in the Giants game to end the season JOHN MADDEN said he was the real deal. So we need to dial back the enthusiasm a little.

It was the Rams, dude.....

lol, no need to crap on his performance by pointing out who we were playing.. The kid ran hard & was great, BOTTOM LINE

DeMarco Murray would have been drafted in the 1st round if he wasn't labeled as a injury prone player. honestly i think we got a steal in the draft.

All of these injured players that should have been drafted in the 1st round that we got later are turning out to be pretty good. I guess those weren't horrible draft picks after all.

I have to admit, I was one of those who thought he was drafted at least a full round to early. He made me eat some crow and I love it.

Emmitt didn't have a contract when he "held out." He honored every contract he ever signed.

Chris Johnson was under contract for two more years and chose not to honor his contract.

Huge difference.

2004 - Julius Jones versus the Bears and Seahawks. I would think those games would make us learn that a game, or even a couple games, do not make a player. Need to slow down on the enthusiasm around here.

Regardless, Demarco put on an amazing performance today and deserves full credit for that.

Thanks for reminding me.

I have Chris Johnson in two of my fantasy leagues.

He's killing me.

I knew not to mess with him. But you can still make up for it by signing Murray like I just did.

I don't care if DeMarco played against a HS team today. He hasn't looked this fast since he was a sophomore at OU.

now if only we can get him out in routes like the texans did foster and the eagles use to do with westy.

For what we have seen around these parts this year this was wonderful. Amazing day for him

please stop being such a debbie downer! you're ruining the party!

Hugely impressed with DeMarco Murray, but I'm really upset that, with Murray only 44 yards away from the NFL all-time record for most rushing yards in a game (296 yards, set by Adrian Peterson four years ago), that the Cowboys coaching staff didn't try to aim for the record.

How often do you get that close to the record? This is an opportunity that comes only once in 10 or 20 years. Even inside the two minute warning, we should have used all our timeouts, pounding the ball with Murray, spiking the ball, doing everything we could to give him, say, ten more carries with which to grind out those 44 more yards.

44 yards.
That's all we were talking about.

I have Murray on my FT. I had him on the bench though. :(

Jackson in Buffalo is my RB. Been doing good most of the year. Might have to redo the roster this week. :)
