*** Demarco Murray Thread ***

Not impressed....you take away his long runs and he averaged only about two or three years a carry.

Pedestrian.....

We have more important things to worry about than somebody getting a record. That TD from Romo to Dez was huge in terms of getting those two some confidence together. Props to Garrett for calling that play when the temptation must have been to run it up the gut and kick the FG.

and it is always possible the staff did not know. Not like they get the Studio feed with sound. Now if it was on the Jerruhtron there is less excuse for not knowing.

BUT really it is not that important in the big scheme of things.

Not to mention if the Rams realized what we were trying to do they would go after Murray with everything they had and he might get injured. Not worth the risk.

Nice.

The real comparison is Chris Johnson vs. Matt Forte.

One is a greedy piece of crap who held out. The other went about his business, worked hard, and is among the best running backs in the league this year.

Forte was great at Wembley today

Two different types of running backs. Julius got his big runs by juking and making players miss, then running to day light. We soon found out that when the juke doesn't work, he goes down on first contact. Murray finds holes, runs over people and then runs to daylight.

DeMarco's 91-yard run was on a delay very reminiscent of some of those early Julius TD runs.

I'm cautiously optimistic with DM. I need to see more, but he gets all the props in the world for what he did today.

Great performance by Murray. I'm not taking out the anointing oil yet but he definitely earned himself a more prominent role.

Thats all people are saying. It was a great game by the rookie. Let him play.

The rest of these debbie downer posters can choke on it.

Agenda's be damned.

Sick and tired of this place where everyone has to be right over everyone else.

Like a bunch of 11 yr old around here.

My guy sucks! I am mad at your guy cuz he showed awesomeness. I better get busy posting stupid crap about your awesome player.

Its rediculous

I am so happy for the DALLAS COWBOYS

A lot of people are saying it's the Rams they suck. Very true, they are a bad NFL run defense. They are a badly coached team and will probably have a new staff this time next year. But still how many 200+ rushing performances have we witnessed in Dallas Cowboy history?

I'm going to have to re-read the Murray draft thread this week for a good laugh.

so are the cowboys "pieces of crap" for not honoring gurode's contract, asking him to restructure?
You don't seem to understand that a team pays large signing bonuses up front. So when a player no longer plays up to their contract they are completely allowed under the agreement to end the contract or ask to renegotiate. The player doesn't have to agree which Gurode did not.

does not change the fact that there have been players before that had huge games then disapeared. We should by now have learned the lesson to not get too high on a young player OR TOO LOW ON ONE EITHER.

I agree. It was a great touch pass by Romo too, which he has not historically thrown well. Many times I've seen him line drive that but this one had a nice arc on it.

I didn't call Chris Johnson a name. That was someone else.

And no, teams have the right to cut players. Gurode's contract wasn't guaranteed.

That long touchdown run he was untouche but showed he has speed the rest of his yardage he got on 2nd and 3rd effort and he broke a lot of tackles, which is good to see from any running back. I just hope he stays healthy and gets a better feel for the game and his line. Awesome display of speed and power.

The poster doesn't understand contracts nor how they are written. You are wasting your time Adam. :(

What's really impressive is I believe he ran for more yards in the 2nd half. You'd think that 91 yarder on his first carry would have given him just one big half. He backed it up and then some in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

Hugely impressed with DeMarco Murray, but I'm really upset that, with Murray only 44 yards away from the NFL all-time record for most rushing yards in a game (296 yards, set by Adrian Peterson four years ago), that the Cowboys coaching staff didn't try to aim for the record.

How often do you get that close to the record? This is an opportunity that comes only once in 10 or 20 years. Even inside the two minute warning, we should have used all our timeouts, pounding the ball with Murray, spiking the ball, doing everything we could to give him, say, ten more carries with which to grind out those 44 more yards.

44 yards.
That's all we were talking about.
Wow, people here really will complain about anything.

Murray's last carry took us to the Rams 16 yard line. The best case scenario would have been coming out of that drive with 28 yards to go. Our next possession was kneel-down time. There was no reason and pretty much no opportunity to go after the record.

Emmitt didn't have a contract when he "held out." He honored every contract he ever signed.

Chris Johnson was under contract for two more years and chose not to honor his contract.

Huge difference.

Thanks. I was just about to say this.
