Geez, got a real sensitive Sally over here.
He is neither only making 2 plays a game or an average player.
He agreed to a new contract with guaranteed money of 30 mils and a signing bonus of 12 mils. He gets 12 mils at the day of signing. The 3 mils over the year each gameweek. He earns 15 mils in 2022
His old contract wasnt guaraneed anymore. He had a base salary of 17 mils in his old contract for 2022. But nothing sure and he could have been cut that year or the following year. Also the 17 mils he earns as a 1/17th gamecheck per game. He doesnt get it at once. And its not guaranteed as i said already. If he is suspended or hurt he doesnt get paid.
So yes in essence he has 2 mils less than before in 2022. But then he has 30 mills guarateed and 12 mils on his bankaccount already.
It looks like a paycut but in essence its a raise.
Lawrence was an overpaid locker room cancer for years and one of the single largest contributors towards the worst stretch of defense in Cowboys history. But some of you guys still love him so hey have at it.
It used to be that opponent DC's first priority was to make sure D-Law was accounted for. He was often double teamed.
The priorities shifted the moment Micah Parsons first walked onto an NFL field. Now D-Law is one of "the other guys". He shouldn't be. He is relentless against the run. I've seen where many D-linemen consider their job over as soon as the RB passes them going in the opposite direction. D-Law follows the action all the way down the field until the whistle blows. You can't teach that.
Good luck changing the minds of anyone who has decided to hate one of our own players for whatever reasons they choose. The fact that they've already decided not to like one of our own is irrational enough for me to eschew any thoughts of holding any meaningful discourse with them. I will get dragged in once in a while, but mostly I just talk about the good I see and analyze what I think could be better. And I try to do it without the 5th grade "he sucks" or "he needs to be cut" nonsense. Did I say 5th grade? My bad.. I meant 3rd grade.
As long as he is not running his mouth while doing nothing I don't have a problem with him.
So glad Parsons is the leader of this defense and not the Hotboyz creator!
I agree…I think he is benefiting from having Parsons on the other side as well as the emergence of some other d-linemen, so he is not asked to play above his ability. .and thus far letting his play speak for itself. I was so tired of him running his mouth and not backing it up on the field. No one is really talking about him, but he's playing light's out so far this season. He was one of the forum's whipping boys the last few years. Good to see him playing at a high level.
No, Gilligan's there too.He is. I think you'd be alone on that island trying to say otherwise.
He's always had that. His motor was always running until the whistle blew. He just didn't have much help. It's nice to see that spark in him again play after play!
DLaw is the same guy he always was when healthy. A consistently effective pass rusher and run defense savant.
Seriously, there is "good at run defense" and then there is DLaw. He was PFF's #1 graded run defender at edge last season, and he's the NFL's only edge player to make the top ten 4 years in a row. I would say he's the best edge setter in the NFL.
NO not accurate 30 mil guaranteed over the first 2 years 22-23 so that 15 each26 million against the cap next year. I don't see how we keep him with Dak's 49 million cap hit too. We'll have to re-sign one of those guys just to bring down their cap.
This is likely Dlaws last year
