But there is no dire reason to cut him after 2021 ..... they have 2 Team Options for 20m but none guaranteed...... he could play the whole 5 years

Come year 4 Lawrence if he's still a high performer will be asking for a contract extension/renegotiation.

In reality you almost never play out the string. Players hate it and NFL teams can lower the cap hit by extending a few years. That's the give and take.
