These guys have not PROVEN to be enough of a difference maker to put up with this.....if we are being held hostage by a guy with ZERO sacks...and another guy with 7 or 8 in 2 years....we have no chance of running a locker room where players fear consequences.

This blows but there is no need to draft for desperation. The team can get a very good DE like Dodd or Ogbah in the 2nd round and a guy like Jason Jones can still be signed. Also Spence will likely be on the board if they move down to 15 with TN.

They can fill the four games DLaw and Gregory are out with guys like Mayowa and David Irving, that isn't good but it doesn't justify forcing a bad pick in the top five either.

Spence has had drug issues galore in college...bad idea. Bosa is a bonehead too. IT just continues.

I'm glad you feel this way too. I was worried we'd be getting a "calm down" post.

I won't say calm down for sure, this is getting extremely frustrating, and it hurts the team to not have these two.

A silver lining would be that in the first 4 games we aren't facing a murderer's row of QB's (Eli is the best by far) and it's not like it's an injury to these two guys, they will stay fresh and working out, hopefully able to hit the ground running game 5.

I'd say these two suspensions individually are far less impactful to the team than the Scandrick injury last year.

However injuries can't be avoided. Stupid personal mistakes like these are.

Spence is an either/or - you either believe he has turned a corner and is a first round talent or you don't and he is off your board. From what you read it sounds like a lot of teams think his earlier drug use was just excessive partying and not chronic Rastafarianism like Gregory.

And I've never been a fan of Bosa, I do think he will be a good Pro but is worth a pick in the second half of the first round and not the Top Five.

Broaddus probably won't say anything confirming it. He doesn't get much he can't share, but there are times he can't broach a subject and I would bet this is one of those times if it's true.

I've been against resigning Hardy but if this is true that avenue needs to explored. If I were in negotiations with him I go one step further on the pay for play deal they gave him last and have heavy fines imposed for tardiness for practices and meetings
