News is that Denver will release Dumervil Friday at 2pm if he does not take the pay cut they have offered to him. Just turn 29, same age of Spencer with double the career sacks.

Get it done Jerry.
Ware + Hatcher + Ratliff + Dumervil
Championship

Picksix;5024280 said:He signed his franchise tag. The money's guaranteed. Besides, where are you gonna play Dumerville? On the strong side? Good luck with that.
dadymat;5024281 said:Dumervil just refused to take less than $12 million.....Spencer reports say he is willing to negotiate ...I dont see the win in that scenario
Galian Beast;5024286 said:Last I heard Jerry said that Spencer wants more than he is willing to pay... Please give me your updated information on Spencer negotiating.
Galian Beast;5024284 said:#1 He has played on the strong side before.
#2 I don't think the money is guaranteed if he is traded. Someone correct me if I am mistaken.
Dumervil isn't going to stop the run as a strong side end. He's 5-11 260 and that has never been his thing. Denver had him on the weak side end for a reason. Of course Spencer's money is guaranteed, another team would want him to agree to a new contract.Galian Beast;5024284 said:#1 He has played on the strong side before.

You're ignoring reality, he isn't going to stop the run there. They would have to move Ware to the strong side.Galian Beast;5024299 said:You put your best pass rusher on the weak side, which is why he was there. That being said he has been moved around the line, and has been on the strong side before. You can ignore that reality, which is fine, but it doesn't strengthen your argument.
Galian Beast;5024298 said:No, Spencer is costing us 10 million this year, and probably wants upwards of that per year. I'd much rather spend the extra 2 million on Dumervil, not that we would have to pay him 12 million this year (please see Brandon Carr).
Trade Spencer for a 2nd or 3rd (whatever it takes to trade him and get value) and then sign Dumervil to a 12 million a year deal (which is cheap for his skill level). Just needs to be more cap friendly than Mario Williams deal.
