They pitched a shutout in the second half, good adjustment. The offense didn't help so much with all those turnovers, they may have held em to less points.

Can we stop blaming the D now? Romo and company were nowhere near Top 5 on O. That's all many of you have been harping on all offseason, get a clue...

Realistically the D gave up 14. What's sad is the offense is the side that played like they were depleted with talent. I'm not going to say the D played fantastically. They did decent with what they have. I like Rolondo McClain out there.

not sure if serous, but one game of not being the worst unit on the field does not undo an entire season.

I'm willing to give the defense a pass for the 2 TD's that Tony and those fools set them up for, I am ok with that.

But Rod 'Walk on Water' Marinelli needs to start feeling some heat, what was this soft *** no press, zone coverage that we were sitting in all game? It looked like a game of Madden with Kaepernick dropping back and throwing wherever he pleased. Of course when the offense spots the other team 21 points it makes it hard on the defense, and for the most part i think the guys on that side of the ball rose to the challenge, but that defensive game plan was despicable

lolol at anyone giving the credit to this defense...not only did sf go into a shell, but our 3rd down defense was embarrassing...

how soon we forget that SF went 70 yards in like 4 plays and under 90 seconds...hahha, yeah what a good performance

Ummmm Niners went into a shell after the 1st quarter. The defense still has a terrible secondary.

No they didn't.

The DL really was active and played pretty well against a decent OL today. I was surprised.

McClain played great, I thought. And lasted the whole game. I was impressed.

I hate watching us sit back in zone. We're not very good at it. Looking forward to seeing the defense against a less-mobile QB the next few weeks.

Plenty of positives even in a disaster of a game like this one.

The lineplay was fine, which was better than expected. We lost because Romo had a horrible game (which he does occasionally) and we had some fluke plays go against us (which tend to even out over the course of the season).

We did OK on the fundamentals. If you lose on mistakes that is one thing, if you lose on fundamentals its much worse.

The LB's played well, which no one would have predicted. And they will get better as McClain acclimates and Toomer works into the Nickel.

The DLine was pretty good considering it had no pass rushers. The hardest positions to fill on defense are CB and passrushers, and we have Scandrick and Spencer coming back, plus Lawrence at midseason.

D sucks but I didn't think it would outplay our Offense by so much

I thought Rolando McClain was awesome in this game. Really. And I felt the OLine and Murray were both good. The secondary- scheme or what have you- the entirety of it- was putrid, again.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm actually slightly encouraged. As I said all off season we will get better as we go along.

Durant and Church didn't finish the game. Our two best players.
