Derek Carr retires

I was looking to see if this was posted, go figure it was you;)

Will be interesting to see how Kellen will progress with his new team as the head coach over the next couple of years.

I read a different news article, and I must say, it's nice to know they actually have churches in Las Vegas LOL

Interesting that he retired. He's only 34. But, I guess not everyone can play QB into their 40's like the goat Brady!! LOL

Nowadays, a QB can easily be highly productive into his late 30's even early 40's. The protection they get from the rules and refs means they take a lot fewer hard hits. And modern medicine and exercise routines and so on also make a difference. I remember when I was first a cowboys fan that a QB at 32 or so was considered an old man. And honestly, not a lot of players outside of kickers were lasting much beyond that, not at least as top level players

He will unretire at least once...........
His shoulder is shot. It sounds like he'd prefer to live with whatever limited functionality it has rather than go through surgery, rehab and continued degenerative activities. When you make a deal to pass on $30M so you can retire without having to go through said surgery, it sounds like the odds of wanting to make an Adrian Peterson late career desperation cash grab aren't very high.
