We talk often how RBs, OL, QB are being exposed but nobody has been more exposed that Dooley (WR coach). There has been zero development across the board from WRs. Most teams do not have a Dez Bryant yet their WR seem to get open. Maybe some of this is on the QB and we will find out soon enough with Cassel starting now. RB and WR should figure high in next draft.

So Dooley is Doless or is he clueless ?

Here is the reality.... They drafted Dez 6 years ago in the 2010 draft.

Since then they drafted exactly one guy in round 3 or higher at the WR position -- Williams in 2013. That's it.

It's today's pass happy NFL, I lay fault on the doorstep of the front-office for not doing a better job stocking the WR cupboard.

Elite QBs need WR targets. The Cowboys have loaded up on role/specialist WRs and to a certain extent it has come back to bite them this season.

Whats funny about this is everyone was crying for defense and trenches. "They better not draft a WR". A phrase uttered by so many. Now Dez goes down and now we're talking about how bad the WR crew is. I frequented the draft zone the last couple of years and outside of few (maybe 10%?) were actually concerned about the WR depth and wanted to spend another premium pick on it. I was probably one of only a handful that wanted OBJ if he was available. Felt the same with Watkins and Parker.

We thought we were so set from the offensive side of the ball, but we could definitely add a lot of pieces to the offense in addition to drafting heavily towards the secondary.

I knew we were in trouble of Dez went down!

Now we are looking like our Dline 2 years ago bringing in all these scrubs at WR!

I never cared about drafing a WR high, I did care about not bringing in decent FA WRs for depth. There were some decent WRs out there in the offseason we could have brought in in case there was an injury.

I wasn't fretting over any of the free agents. While I wasn't in a panic about the WR group, I was most definitely open to drafting one early in the draft if an elite talent was available.

This QB nonsense gets to me. People speak on drafting one in the 1st in case Romo gets hurt, but if he doesn't it's a completely wasted pick. You then have to factor in the enormous bust rate on QBs. Then, you're picking from whats going to be a watered down group since the top rated prospects have been picked over. Also, you lose a ton of the value of having a QB on a rookie deal. To top it all off, you're taking away what could be a valuable contributor from a team trying to get over the top for someone who might not even see the field here.

To sum it up, you're taking a starter away from another position for a guy who odds are will bust, may not see the field from a limited group and probably won't be better than a real b/u you can get in FA. I'll pass.

No need to get excited about the QB in this years draft until you evaluate the entire pedigree of the class. Manziel was our last could of should of, and we ended up with Zack Martin all pro guard. Would you trade him now for Manziel? Maybe some of you would. This year's talent could easily be as poor as the 2013 draft class for QB's where none of them were worthy of a high pick.
I get the impression from Jerry that Dez is not coming back immediately after the bye as the injury has not gone with the six week scheduled heal time like Jerry and Stephen prophesied. That is just me reading and translating some Jerry speak after more than twenty years. Hope I am wrong on this one.
I feel bad for Cassel as if the NE/NO defense strategy is used all he will have to throw to are #3 receivers in Street, Williams, and Butler. Maybe Cassel can thread the needle and make the perfect passes these guys require in order to compete. We have too many pedestrian receivers in Williams, Street, and time to throw Escobar in the mix. Tough to make a living throwing to those three when Witten and Beasley are doubled.
We were not hitting on all cylinders on offense even when Tony was under center. Defenses have adjusted to our Oline strength and have effectively nullified our previous advantages we have failed to scheme it back to an asset.
This is when coaching shines through whether you are from Princeton, Tenn or LSU the only boxes on this scorecard is wins and losses. The score stands 0 wins 3 losses and we continue to see the same offensive scheme trotted out each week...

Sorry but what the heck are some of you expecting ?? We are without our franchise qb, our franchise WR and our starting Rb of last year ?? Add to that our underrated OL coach walked away and we have one of the worst backup qbs and we're ready to fire our WR coach ... Oh yeah that's it... Our many glaring issues must be his fault ...
Don't get me wrong our WR are not executing, but that's because they are complimentary WR who work when a monster like Dez is on the field.. Heck with Romo on the field they would look better ... Too many pieces are broken folks ... Not many teams would survive these type of losses either .. Heck if we had even a decent backup qb and a decent defensive effort in the second half, we probably would have won 2 of the last 3 games ...

A little too early to be reading into what Dr. Jerry Jones says about Dez's injury. We have a little less than two weeks until the Giants game, that's a lot of healing time for a broken foot that has already had 4 weeks of healing.

Not when most physician's estimates were referring to more like eight weeks.

I think CB is going to be huge need
Do we keep Carr? Do we sign Mo?
If we let both walk CB is gonna be very high on needs list
