Absolutely.

You owe Henry 6.3 million for the rest of the season. Lock him up for 2-3 years and let Henry / Dowdle be your 1-2 next season
henry is getting old. i'm not signing him to a new contract after this year. he'd be a rental for me unless he came back cheap.

i think thats a common stance among hopeful fans and it does play a role. i myself think its steele is coming off an injury as well and they rushed him back .They paid him now they are stuck. Tyler B is another one they have more faith in than i do. Tyron is a shell of what he once was and Zack is still good but he also is going to start the slow regression. Tyler smith is the best of the starters at this point

Bottom line is my opinion is they believe this line is better than it actually is and for us to be sucessful it will need to be schemed better. But hey i wonder if that 2nd round TE can play the line since the FO thought it prudent to pass on a OG for him
The FO overvaluing their own players? This FO? No way:rolleyes:

For us to get Henry would equate to Jerry admitting he was wrong on Pollard and Vaughn. Not going to happen. Jerry is never wrong on player evaluations because he's the smartest owner/GM in the NFL. We needed o-line help for a couple of seasons now. Jerry doesn't see it that way, so here we are. Another wasted year.

I'll eat an entire pack of cigarettes if the Cowboys trade for Henry. This is myth at best.

Yah— I agree. They are better in reputation than production at this point.

BUT— their production can be better than it has been with improvements in health and continuity. Will they be “dominant” or “elite?” No. But can they reach “very good” “solid” and “productive”? Yes.

Here’s to hoping.

LOL, how much you willing to spend on Henry for 2-3 years?

That screams bad contract. Really bad contract.

They would have to return Pollard to his change of back role. Would the Cowboys be alright having a 10 million back sitting on the bench?
Even if they did that Pollard still got a lot of carries. He’s also one of our best players.

Jerry does this all the time. He will screw around until another team swoops in and signs the player away that he wants. Jerry either undervalues or overvalues players. There's no in-between for him. He always seems to get screwed in the end. I'm not against signing Henry, at the right price, but he's too old invest alot of $$ or draft pics in...

Would be beyond insane to give up prime draft capital for an almost 30 yr old RB. There is no one player - or 2 or 3 players for that matter - that will make this mess of a team a champion.

The sleeper team expected to be in the market for Henry are the Dallas Cowboys. The belief from many is Henry could end up in the NFC East with the Cowboys if Tennessee is willing to eat some of the money remaining on Henry’s contract, estimated to be around $6.2 million.

The Cowboys have Tony Pollard at the top of the depth chart- a player they franchised after releasing Ezekiel Elliott in March. Henry’s power running style is viewed as the perfect compliment to Pollard’s big play ability as a ball carrier and pass catcher.

Pauline is proven to be one of the best insiders who has been on the money in the past.
The only part I'd be worried about is the dysfunctional run blocking and a passing game unable to make the defense back off,,, I can see it now, superstar downhill running back getting swamped in the backfield after taking 1 step.

The way I see it. If you pound Henry up the middle. Even if he is getting no where. The DL and LBs will be so tired of tackling him, you throw Pollard and his speed in and hes gone.

No team is going to give up a 2nd rd pick for him. Remember we got both Gilmore/Cooks for late day 3 picks.
You are comparing Cooks/Gilmore to King Henry? The one player that is not a quarterback that led his team to the AFC championship game. We will see come the trade deadline.

They are over 30 year old players at more valued positions.

Would Henry even take a deal like that?

Someone will be stupid when he's a FA. I am hoping we arent that stupid team.

Can tell you Henry alone forces teams to play more base coverage, which will make it easier to pass the football.
