Under the article about Troy critcizing the Roy Williams trade, Detroit fans are laughing at Dallas fans, saying they hope we have fun with RW and what a bum he is. Scroll down to the bottom of each page to see comments. There are pages and pages criticizing Roy, Jerry Jones and Dallas fans. It's amazingly ironic that an 0-16 club can make fun of anybody. And don't give me that "they're right/it's true" crap. 0-16. Freakin' 0-16!!!! I live in Detroit (unfortunately) and take it from me, Lions fans are arrogant as hell. How ironic under the circumstances.

They have nothing to laugh at other than being the worst team in the NFL, I like all of the critical things being said about Roy...motivation to prove all of them wrong.

I dont know....I have nothing against a team fans talking trash....sure the Lions finished 0-16 ....but at the end of the year....what really did we accomplish more then them?

IMHO ...its Championship or Bust.....

Lets hope RW can prove all his critics wrong......we already had a RW here that couldnt prove his critics wrong when he got exposed....he then pointed fingers... and then supposely wrote anonymous letter to the media.....and now he is looking for employment.

I really hope RW does become the player we need him to be.

Living here, I can tell you that they did not call Roy a bum until we got him. I remember when the trade first happened, my co-workers were going on about how they hated Dallas for signing Roy. Now those same people say he's a lazy no-good bum. They sound sorta like....Cowboys fans after a player leaves.

What could they really laugh about?

They drafted some great talent and did ABSOLUTELY nothing with it.

The 0-16 joke will haunt them forever.

Arrogance is always a sign for a lack of self-confidence. I think that explains the behavior of some of their fans.

Oh please, Cowboy fans have made fun of of plenty of teams that are more successful than we are. It's what fans do.

But to pay out 115 million for a team to not win one game, they midus well grab 53 rookies and see if they can win one game... at least they would save around 70 mil or so.

Oh please, when the Cowboys were 1-15, we were not making fun of anybody. We were ashamed and rightly so. 0-16, man. Freakin' 0-16!!!! They need to shut the hell up.

As right as you are it is STILL inaccurate. The Cowboys atleast got up and out of bed. The Lieons slept through last season.

Given how fragile Roy has been, I'd rather have the cap space and the picks back, this guy hasn't even taken a cut yet. I wonder if those size 16 pontoons are going to be a chronic problem for him? Don't care about the Lion fans, we will laugh at the Commanders no matter what our record is.

0-16, 9-7... at the end of the season, it's the same boat. Dallas might have been at the bow, they may have been at the stern, but it's still the same boat.

Everything Aikman said is right. Roy has potential, but so far, he hasn't lived up to it. Maybe that's part of having been in Detriot. Like a lot of things this next season, we'll just have to wait and see.

The Detroit Lions are second only to the Cardinals in terms of length of time since they last won a championship they have nothing to crow about at all. Their last title was in 1957, the year BEFORE I was born! At least the Cards made it to the SB last year while the Lions have set a record for most losses in a single season and being the first team to go 0-16 since we went to a 16-game schedule in 1978.

The Lions are one of the least successful franchises in the NFL. :lions:

I disagree. Detroit was in a historic boat all alone. And all it did was sink.

Mediocrity as a Lion fan is a given. What happened to us last year was pathetic. Sure the Lions were the worst team in football. The Cowboys were the worst story in football. And by the end of the season the whole league was laughing at this team that had no heart.

When Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs were celebrating and saying "Shut it down" in reference to the last game in Texas Stadium. Or the blowout with a playoff berth on the line in Philly. Or the 4th quarter choke job in Pittsburg. Where was Roy Williams during those games?

An acquisition like that is supposed to be the final piece of the puzzle. To save face from the stupid comment Jerry Jones made that he "wasn't worried about the WR position" last offseason. Detroit fans could pretty much reference the fact that Roy Williams was brought in to help Dallas win a title last year. I doubt he was brought in to be the #1 WR for this team. So to give up that type of money and picks to go with it for a complimetary WR to Owens was pretty stupid. I doubt Jerry brought in Williams thinking that he was going to get rid of Owens.

That's all good and well, but it doesn't justify Lions fans talking smack. They are idiots no matter how you slice it.
