Yeah...I'm gonna go-ahead and not book that one.

Set aside whatever you believe Deuce's abilities are and consider who he's playing for. Do you really think the Cowboys have an idea how to incorporate a player of Deuce's ilk? He'll be relegated to primarily jet sweeps and special teams.

He'll have to sign his next contact to play under an offensive mind, like a Sean Peyton, for him to be relevant.
Actually, its you stereotyping him as a typical small player. DV will get his opportunity.

No, it's the Cowboys stereotyping him given his stature. I stated set his abilities aside. I never said the kid couldn't play.
Why not give McCarthy the opportunity to fix the offense. Why do you think they let Kellen go? Just be patient.

Deuce about to school at this level now, he already did at KS and admittedly it is a big boy game for percentage of league at this level, but some smalls with balls can make some serious re invention and introduction to the game 2023.

MM has to improve this offensive production and we have the players and coaches in place to evolve this, dont think for a moment that Dak even wants to slow his role down,,,
let us think for a moment before throwing mis guided shots for the moment, right now as you read. shots..

History always repeats itself, and dogs always seem to chase their own tails.

Im not counting nothing against our boy Deuce at this point, I hope he fly's and shuts all the lose mouths under expectations up.

Its Deuces stature that can be his fuel, it always has been.

So what do you predict his rushing/receiving totals will be this season? He may end up being a pretty good player for the Cowboys, but if you think he’s going to set the league on fire, you’re going to be sadly mistaken. I have a feeling there’s going to be a lot of complaining on this board from fans that don’t think he’s getting enough touches. Then again, there may not be much complaining if he doesn’t do anything with the touches he does get.

from these and other video and his college play, the 3 most obvious things:

1. Size. He's small (blessing & a curse). It can help him be elusive but can limit where he can run.
2. BURST. This young man can move. He's not going to break a lot of tackles, but if he can find a gap, he will pick up 4, 5, 6 yards (or way more).
3. Movement. He moves well. He's got good feet; plants, pivots. He's not just stomping around out there

Reminds me of a smaller Aaron Jones. Jones is elusive. Jones has more size & power and can run between tackles, but it's the burst that both possess. Jones has a knack for finding gaps and shooting through getting 4-5-6yds

The one down side is #1 on that list...size. How does this impact his pass protection ability? Dak has to be able to trust he'll pick up a blitzer.

Why can you never just appreciate potential talent gain without making it seem as though he should be immidiately consideration for HOF.
Dang man.

I’ve said repeatedly that he’s a talented player but his size is going to be a detriment. It’s fans like you that make it sound like he should be an immediate consideration for the Hall of Fame. My expectations for him is that he could be a pretty good player for the Cowboys in a particular role. But some on this board have expectations that he could be the next Barry Sanders. Lol In all the years I’ve been doing fan boards he’s the most overhyped player I’ve ever seen for the Cowboys. Fans have been comparing him to Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, and other Hall of Fame backs. He’s not going to be near that good, I’m just keeping it real. However, I’ve never said he wouldn’t end up being a good player.

Talk about twisting peoples words.
The posts are on the board. Unfortunately, you can’t go back far enough to dig them up, because of the new format. Comparisons to Barry Sanders have come up repeatedly on this board. Try opening your eyes. At least a few fans compared him to Emmitt, because he was only 5’ 9”. That’s still 4 inches taller than Vaughn and Emmitt was a thicker back.
