It’s like some of y’all never watched him play in college but to be fair to some of you the NFL probably screwed it up too.

They bet on his size being a weakness.
It’s what makes him special.
It’s tough to find some type of advantage in the draft In modern-day ball. All teams now have big money, top-of-the-line scouting departments and technology. But what hasn’t been updated yet is good old fashioned bias. I hope everyone’s loss to see the kid could still play at that size is our gain.

They nailed it with Vaughn in the 6th, Brooks in the 7th, and Stephens UDFA

2nd half, (9:50 - 3rd). Vaughn catches a 1yd pass from Grier. Ugly pass at the sideline. ONLY 1yd, BUT, Deuce made a good reaching catch with had good hands. That effort converts a 3rd/4th and 1 when it counts.

He's clearly taking no plays off and taking no play/opportunity for granted.

As a runner: Vision, cutback ability, burst. Again, reminds me of a small Aaron Jones.

I dunno if he'll break off 75-80yd runs, but if he can average 4+, that's good enough.

CANNOT let him go to the PS. He has to be #2/#3 RB
If Fehoko would have blocked his corner, Deuce would have scored on that play. He beat the safeties.

You may believe it, but it won’t end up that way. Their second back is going to have to be able to pick up those dirty yards and push the pile when there’s no room. It’s going to be a back with some size they can count on in short yardage situations and near the goal line. We have to be able to punch the ball in the endzone from inside the 5 yard line.

Keep digging in. All I want to see is WHEN he makes the team you bow out. I doubt you will though.
All I want to see is what Duece does when/if hes ever playing against at least second stringers.

It was actually embarrassing for him, with all the media hype, to not play any meaningful reps.

On top of that, the only special teams work he got was a couple punt returns and a KO return he should have not returned.

But super happy you think he shined. Hes still ptactice squad bound though.

I was willing to wait to see deuce on an nfl field vs professional athletes. You can check my posts I never guaranteed he'd be good or bad. But NOW I'm telling you after today to abandon ship. I don't care it was against 3rd stringers, he's an nfl player. But you can delay the inevitable if you want to

What I don’t like is when people are so married to their opinion on a player that they just about can’t come off it and admit they were wrong to begin with.

I’ve seen it a lot on this forum. Like with Deuce… assuming he keeps playing well and gets the RB2 spot. If someone said he wasn’t going to make the team, they continue to pull against him and point out any negative in his play going forward all season long. They have effectively started pulling against a player on their favorite team. Because they doubted him to begin with, they go on and on talking down about that player and throwing any mistake up in everyone’s faces.

Why they can’t just be glad that Dallas found a good player and just say they were wrong about him? I don’t know that answer because I’m not a pshycologist… but it must just be human nature because we see it often.

Anyway kids… if you’re wrong about a player being good (or bad), just admit you were wrong and try to enjoy the players on your favorite team.
Well this seems to be true for all the years of this site.

Seen posters just disappear cause they were wrong about a certain guy, alot of people in general in real life, don't want to admit they are wrong. It just extends here, don't know why people can't do it. Heck, I've never heard my mom or sister ever admit that they are wrong in their entire lives.

Maybe its just ego or appearing weak, both of which shouldn't matter. But it does with some people, don't know why, I know I've been wrong alot about players and will continue to screw it up just like the NFL GMs do every year.

As far as Im concerned, hes not on the team now. Same goes for a handful of other players.
I just happen to believe Davis and Dowdle are better options. For those that dont, are Duece fans pulling against them?
I get it. Its popular to root for the guy. I root for players too. Just not him.
So save your psychoanalysis for those who root against guys that actually make the team.
If Duece legitimately makes this team, I'll be chearing him on if he ever touches the ball.
See, Im a Cowboys fan. Have been all my life. I want them to be great.
Now is the time of year we all get to pretend we're the GM. We get to play along and voice our OPINIONS on how this team gets better.
A lot of folks see Duece making us better. I dont. And none of it matters because we dont decide.
Call me a hater all you want. It simply doesnt matter to me. I speak my opinion, on a board full of nothing but opinions. I've backed up all of it with logical breakdown.
Im in the minority for sure. But Im also not a sheep. Never will be.
Go Cowboys!!

People reading too much into that depth chart. He has a shot. Here is last year's first team depth chart in TC. You can see that it changed a lot, and they also put a ton of RBs on it with the guy who ended up being the true backup close to Deuce's current position on this year's first depth chart.

Holy Cow, Zeke is the number 1 back and McGovern is back to starting LG

Deuce Vaughn will 100% be on the 53 barring injury.

Those types of people don't have the decency to admit when they are wrong.
