Can’t keep using the blocking as an excuse. He’s got to find a way to make a play with the opportunities he’s given. Turpin is making plays.
Turpin is being given better opportunities. He's been here longer, so it's only fair, but you can't fault Deuce when he's put in a bad position. I will say his blocking needs improvement. He missed assignments today. But when he's being met in the backfield you can't expect him to rush up the middle for 5 yards.

Turpin is making the most of his opportunities. It’s earning him more opportunities. I don’t think Vaughn is an NFL back. Unless he starts making some plays he won’t make the team next season. He could end up being released this season if he can’t make any plays when given opportunities. So far he’s been a wasted roster spot.

Sorry but his style does not fit this offensive scheme at all.

Mike McCarthy is trying to bring back the offenses of the late 1980s and Vaughn is way out of place.

Deuce needs to be used in space.

No idea what Mike is thinking with how he is trying to utilize him.
I thought the very same thing. I couldn't believe it when he used him when we were inside the 10, lol. It is so forced, I guess to justify his roster spot. The only way I see him being a productive part of this team is if Turpin gets hurt or catches fumbleitis. He would probably be a good return man, but we already have one and in the meantime he could be stashed on the practice squad in case either of those things happened. I would be glad we had him then.

I told everyone to tap the brakes when everyone besides me was rejecting the Darren Sproles comparisons.

Rico was injured and the game was a blowout so Pollard didn't need to be out there. Don't try so hard to read more into it.

..good point. I'm on same wavelength. Dont use as main back. To small to block or break big tackles. ..needs.. >>>>>OPen Field<<<

the best chance he has to make plays is in the passing game. Get him out in space to give him some room.
Agreed. Just wish the Cowboys would do that. Running him up the middle to run out the clock is dumb.

So here is the issue I see with deuce.

Because he's not an every down guy, when he's brought on, he's a key for the defense(gadget player). If you think he's more than that then I'm afraid you're plain wrong.

He can't block( literally missed on two blocks and got dak sacked twice today) so it's hard to be a 3rd down back.
I'm not sure we can have him and Turpin on this roster.

And Turpin is your #1 returner. He's way ahead in terms of value

Think McCarthy was just saving W&T on Pollard with Dowdle out and not worrying too much about trying to scheme him into space in a game that was well in hand!

i said this before. he’s too small. he needs to add about 15lbs of muscle and gain more strength in his legs. he needs that to break some of those arm tackles. another thing is he needs time to get the speed of the game

You have been crying about Deuce since he was drafted.
You must be thinking of someone else because I haven’t been crying about him. It’s the ones who thought he was the next Barry Sanders that are crying. Lol I told everyone the day we drafted him he wasn’t going to get many opportunities, at least early in the season.

If they keep using Vaughn in mop up duty, he may end up with negative yardage by the end of the season. It’s looking like it’s not going to work out with him. He needs room to roam and he’s not finding any. Fans can’t keep using the excuse he has nowhere to run. You have to find a way to make something happen and so far he hasn’t. He averaged 1.1 a carry on 9 carries. He’s not even averaging 3 yards a carry for the season. So much for the Barry Sanders comparisons some were making. Lol
The comparisons were to Darren Sproles...
