Of course Goodell COULD suspend Dez if he wanted to but there is no past precedent for that, not just in football but any major sport that I know of. There is absolutely no reason to believe he will get suspended.

It doesn't matter, and that's the bottom-line.

He won't be suspended by the NFL and the Boys won't punish him anymore than a slap on the wrist.

Soooo all we have to do is accuse Eli of rape twice and he will be suspended.

If he starts getting a reputation for hanging out in college towns partying with underage women and having more than questionable and inappropriate interactions with them on multiple occasions.. then yes, all we have to do at that point is have two girls accuse him of rape, one with witnesses who are unwilling to talk and also who has the marks shown by a nearby hospital to have been raped.

The only reason he wasn't convicted is because "apparently" no one saw exactly what happened after he trapped the girl in the bathroom and because even though there were signs of rape, as confirmed by the nearby hospital, there was no semen to match. Also, the victim didn't want to pursue charges because of the media invasion it would have caused her life.

Your point is one that a teenager would use to try and solidify a claim. It proves nothing.

Ben was suspended because he was charged with two felonies and had a history of being sleazy in nightclubs with underage girls (who he also broke the law by serving and buying drinks for).

Dez had an argument with a family member.. and was told he needed to leave a mall because he was supposedly the only one in the mall with saggy pants.

Let us know when you find a viable connection between the severity of the incidents the two players have been in.
He wasn't charged. He was accused.

Dez was charged for domestic violence and was also in the news for a nightclub fight he wasn't charged for in December. Dez's charges could be dropped but he could still face punishment from the league. It has happened before.

I have said it before - worst case scenario is the league hands down a suspension on Dez while Cowboys idle sit by. It will confirm what many suspect is happening in Dallas...they are colossal ship with no captain and bunch of damaged parts.

Jerry comes out and said Dez needs to start to learn how to "adhere to society norms". Thats about as close to confession you will get out of Cowboys that Dez was partially responsible in incident with his mother.

Jimmy Johnson made a living out of making examples out of people (he once chewed out Emmitt Smith in front of entire team and he later confessed that Emmitt didn't do anything wrong but he need to make a point with team).

So far Jason is coming off weak (and I am big supporter of his who thinks he is going to be very good coach for long time). This is the time of year you set a tone - not after another late season loss where we get lip service on how things will change for next season.

Zoners,

Do you believe the NFL will suspend Dez?

Do you believe Mr. Jones will fine or punish Dez?

I love watching him play so much, that I DO NOT want him suspended for games.

You wait all off season for the start of training camp....then as a fan you have to worry about this crap in regards to our BEST Wr.

I saw this excert this morning that worried me some:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...cowboys-jerry-jones.ap/index.html?eref=sircrc

Jones said Bryant and the team know controversy is not good overall for the Cowboys and is not good for the league, and that there are consequences.

"And we will deal with those as we move along and get more information," he said.

Is Jerry just blowing smoke Zoners? :bang2:
The NCAA, in their infinite wisdom and HYPOCRISY will issue a four year punishment to the Dallas Cowboys. They will lose one half of their draft picks and not be allowed to compete in the offseason.

http://nfllabor.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/collective-bargaining-agreement-2011-2020.pdf

2011 National Football League Collective Bargaining Agreement, Article 46, Commissioner Discipline, Section 1 (a), League Discipline: Notwithstanding anything stated in Article 43:

All disputes involving a fine or suspension imposed upon a player for conduct on the playing field (other than as described in Subsection (b) below) or involving action taken against a player by the Commissioner for conduct detrimental to the integrity of, or public confidence in, the game of professional football, will be processed to the player, with a copy to the NFLPA. Within three (3) business days following such written notification, the player affected thereby, or the NFLPA with the player's approval, may appeal in writing to the Commissioner.

************

While the above pertains moreso to discipline resulting from on-field transgressions, it should offer some retrospective for why Jerry Jones will not be imposing discipline onto Dez Bryant before Commissioner Goodell does. This should be taken into account along with what was posted on an earlier date here.

In other words, it is [strike]highly[/strike] extremely unlikely that Jones will punish Bryant in any way before Goodell takes any action, should he decide to do so.

Additionally, as amazing as some cannot seemingly contemplate, Dez Bryant is an employee of the Dallas Cowboys awaiting the legal ramifications of his alleged incident. To impose team punishment before his case has concluded would imply knowledge of Bryant's "guilt."

Such action would be ill-advised since it would be completely illogical. The franchise wants Bryant available for every game without limitation (e.g. suspension). If there is a remote chance of that happening, it will do everything in its power to make that a reality. Doing nothing serves that purpose.
