Why is everyone getting so mad? Did Dez's arrest somehow affect your life? Did you get fired from your job because Dez got arrested? Did your wife leave you because of this?

*for the record, I think the arrest was stupid, and avoidable. I just LOL when people get so angry over something that has NO EFFECT on their life whatsoever.
People get mad because we care about the Cowboys. If we weren't passionate about the team, we wouldn't be posting on this forum.

I'm not going to blast the guy before I know what happened, but like many others, I've had just about enough of the knuckleheads. How hard is it to not get arrested? I mean seriously. These types of things just don't happen. Dez, like many other high profile athletes, seems to act before he thinks. I don't want to hear how young he is. He's a grown man and he's more than old enough to stay out of jail. Maybe this is nothing, but you don't usually get arrested for nothing.

From my understanding of the link below is if its a simple assault but domestic in nature it is Class A in texas. Unless its a 2nd or more offense.

http://www.mytexasdefenselawyer.com/texas-criminal-laws-penalties/domestic-assault-laws/
And here is says "Simple assault, which Texas assault law defines as assault that causes minor injury, is a Class A misdemeanor in Texas" lol...

At any rate, whoever the "assaulted" family member was, IF they were injured it wasn't a serious injury...not to diminish domestic violence because a real and sincerely threatening verbal assault can easily escalate into more...which is why I think Texas may come down as hard as they do on those types of verbal assaults.

I just think it's a mistake to think "Oh, it could have been nothing more than Dez throwing a paper towel at her head and the woman blowing it all out of proportion" lol...will be interested to find out why it took 2 days before he was arrested/turned himself in. That actually might shine more favorably on on the idgit lol :D (sorry, couldn't resist)...

the senseless stupidity would just move onto another player.

Yep. Then next we could cut Ratliff, then Witten, then everyone for anything CowboysZone seems inappropriate.

Is it sad that I really care less about Dez being arrested and more about the threads that will get started over this stuff?

It's the offseason. We have to keep your mod skills well polished so you're prepared for the regular season onslaught. ;)

his last one was a what...kerfluffle? it was a shooting star til we found out it was nothing then no one had to make something out of nothing so they didn't feel so stupid for being wrong.

then they do it again.

what dez does doesn't bother me. the senseless judgements that rant on after that bother me more.

as a culture, we really are stupid.

Cmon guys? Really? Senseless? Granted, I haven't read every post in this thread. I think most are far from overreaction. Are the continued brushes transparent or something? No one is saying cut him now and I would be highly surprised if these brushes aren't rubbing someone at Valley Ranch the wrong way.

they are what people need them to be.

the rest is wordsmithing.

he was hanged by a headline by far too many and that lack of patience is what bothers me.

hey, didn't irvin hold a gun to someones head while eric did the nasty?

oh wait - that was a lie. :)

but how many people believe the 1st thing they hear - esp if it fits their agenda around the person?

dez will always be stupid to far too many who are too stupid to give the kid a real chance.

How many negative reports have we heard with Tyron Smith's name in them?

We'll see what happens. Most likely it's not going to turn out too be anything like everyone is allegedly hoping it is.

I've never seen a fan base so ready to turn on its own players before.

You do realize that his lady friend could have called the cops out of spite? With his stardom, one simple allegation can lead to a misdemeanor. It's a more of a PITA.

What I find sad is that a woman might have been actually hurt here and that is getting pushed under the rug because Dez might still be able to help the team. Give me a break. I'll wait until we get every single fact but the reality is that trouble finds this kid and domestic issues are nothing to just sweep under the rug. Again, show some maturity people while we wait and see what happened.

look back at how many people did the headbut to the wall, said "smoke fire" crap, and did what they needed to do to affirm their existing belief.

all before we have a single fact.

you tell me which is worse.

committing a crime.
judging before you even know what was done.

i made my pick.

It's all weak. He should not be placing himself in these situations. Do we need to begin naming the incredible numbers of young NFL players that have somehow managed to keep the police blotter clean since signing large contracts over the years?

Considering that it is something involving a family member, it's not always easy to avoid placing yourself in those situations.

Obviously, he does not have the best family life, so it will be interesting to see what occurred.

Let's say, for instance, someone was yelling and cussing at his mom and Dez intervened by jerking the family member away. In that case, I'm not sure many of us would be too upset with his behavior.

I'm not saying that's what happened, but merely that we should wait for the details. I don't like that he keeps putting himself into bad situations, but I also don't like judging him prematurely on this situation based on previous bad situations he's put himself into.
