Well, Larry Fitzgerald managed to refine his game. I'd think he could use the CFL for a similar purpose. Refine his route running skills. Be more of a possession receiver. Those are among areas that a CFL team can help him. It'd be fun to watch him on a team like the Calgary Stampede or the Toronto Argonauts for a season or two.

Whoa there.. Fitz was NEVER half the athlete Dez was so he did not have to engage in as much refinement as Dez needs. Fitz was always a technician and great route runner.. Dez was always a "I'm better than you, deal with it" player. Dez needs a ton of work on his route running and his general mental approach to the game. But no amount of "refinement" is going to make him as intelligent as Larry Fitzgerald. They're just different dudes. That said.. the one thing Dez has going for him is he is still big and strong as an ox and can still get up to where 90% of DBs in the league can't go.. so if he finds a QB whose ball placement can take advantage of that he will be productive. Early Dak couldn't and Lamar couldn't. I don't judge his production in Baltimore that harshly because he basically went to the NFL equivalent of a wishbone team. He was never going to light it up with them. As several folks have mentioned.. seeing him with Brees would have been a treat.. Putting him with Brady might also be fun.. You know who could use him and might get the most out of him? Rodgers!! If the Packers brought Dez in as the red zone and back shoulder specialist that might be enough to bring that diva back into the fold. Plus give Dez an actual training camp instead of working out with kids at the local high school and he might get back closer to actual NFL level explosiveness. That could be really fun..

I agree Dez can and should do whatever he wants if some team is willing to sign him.

But when fans come on with "Dez can still do this and Dez can still do that" I think it's fair to point out facts to the contrary. He has 6 NFL receptions since 2017, he's 32 years old, and the Ravens were so impressed by those 6 catches that they drafted a WR in the first round and let Dez walk.
Dez only hope is going to a team that has a qb that can throw the back shoulder pass.

I agree with this. Especially if Rodgers goes to Denver, I can definitely see that working out. I just think, in the meantime, he may do well in Canada while he's not on a team.

The problem with going to Canada is that the game is SO different from ours Dez might take 10-12 games just to figure out the rules. And if he picks a team with a dud at QB he won't be productive and the unitiated will place the blame on Dez. Because.. that's what idiot fans and idiot media do. If he does light it up it will be dismissed as coming against lesser competition.. There is simply no way for him to win there.. The only reason for him to go there would be if he needs money.. which I sincerely hope is NOT the case..

I hope it's not the case either that he just needs the money.

Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the rush to shovel dirt on Dez's career is the notion that a guy can't be physically dominant at age 32... This aint the 70's.. guys don't smoke in the locker room and work side jobs in the offseason anymore. A 32 year old athlete who has not played a full season in 3 years has every reason to believe that their body can get back to a dominant level or close to it. Now I don't believe it can be accomplished working out with high school kids or in your back yard. You need access to NFL level training and facilities for several months to get there.. Unfortunately for Dez he has not had that in three years.. He REALLY needs to get himself into an NFL offseason program and then into an NFL training camp. I hope he does because I am not part of the "he's done at 32" crowd. I don't believe that for a second. We see world class athletes performing at or near peak levels well into their 30's all the time. I can find no compelling reason why Dez can't be one of them.

..simply put, if doesn't get the chance to play this year. He might be done with NFL. WR's are dime a dozen. Lots of young talent on board this year.

Some of you guys are obsessed over players you don't like.

Dez hasn't played here in 3 years yet you still think of him.

Sorry, I speak proper English. Learned it in school and my parents taught me the proper way to speak.

Well from what we know about Dez's upbringing nobody in his family tree was going over diagramming sentences and proper noun/pronoun usage with him. It's more an indictment on the Lufkin school system and Oklahoma State that he didn't get proper instruction in the language. But beware of equating speaking patterns and mannerisms with intelligence. The two don't necessarily go hand in hand. Some people talk a certain just cause they want to.. Some do it to disarm others. Some do it just because it's fun for them. Whatever the reason Dez talks the way he does, it doesn't bother me. He's a wide receiver not a doctor or lawyer or politician or even a bank teller. His job doesn't require him to be eloquent.

Why not? Kids don't get to control the education they receive.. My parents grew up in the back woods of Mississippi and went to your basic two room shack schoolhouse until they dropped out in 9th and 10 grade. Their education was horrible.. Both were really intelligent people.. who spoke like backwoods country folk for most of their lives .. because that's what they were comfortable with. In another setting I have no doubt that either of them could have gone to college and done quite well there.. My mom, R.I.P., worked as a waitress and cook in restaurants when I was growing up and eventually worked her way up to manager of a Red Lobster in Orlando. It was one of the busiest and most successful in the chain.. in the world.. The management of that chain saw her progression and work ethic and put her through management training and taught her the business side of the business and she did really well at it.. Oh the dinners she brought home for us those days.. We ate like kings during those years!! But I digress.. The point was, my mom was brilliant.. but uneducated.. She tried to lose the country folk manner of speaking for a while but eventually got comfortable with the fact that this was who she was and anybody that didn't like it or thought less of her because they didn't like the way she talked could kiss where the sun don't shine! She COULD speak "The Queen's English" but basically decided she couldn't be bothered.. If it bothered you.. that was your problem.. I agree with her..

That's why I say he should play for a CFL team. Their seasons usually end by before US Thanksgiving, and allows him to show what he can still do.
Off topic -mentioning other leagues....did anyone check out any of the 2021 The Spring League games?

Sure, Dez chap, the Boys are so weak at WR that they might call you.:lmao:

But Desperate has a contingency plan: He also wants the Cards to call him.
Take a drink every time Desperate says "dope" in his statement about the Cards:

"I think that would be dope being next to my boy D Hop [Deandre Hopkins], Christian Kirk, Kyler Murray," Bryant told TMZ. "I think they have a dope offense. I feel like they got a dope defense. I think they got a dope coach ... If I had to choose, yeah, if that opportunity presented itself, I think I would take it.":omg:
