Beasley had a better year than Dez as did a number of WR's in the NFC. Close to 100 receivers had more catches than Dez this season and he was 3rd on his own team in receiving. He was way behind many receivers in receiving yards. He deserved his other trips to the Pro Bowl which earned him a reputation and anyone who follows the NFL knows the Pro Bowl is a lot about reputation. The playoffs had nothing to do with the voting, the Pro Bowl was already announced prior to the playoffs. Try keeping up.

I didn't say the playoffs had anything to do with the voting. I said YOU saying coles numbers were better are wrong. Beasley did not have a better year. It's subjective anyway so your inability to argue with merit rather than hide behind ******** is irrelevant. Have a great afternoon, I've already ruined one of my resolutions and won't be continuing on.

Beasley had a better year and his numbers back it up, plus no one on the team other than maybe Witten moved the chains better than he did. He came up with some critical catches this past season including one against Green Bay in week 6 late in the game that helped us seal victories. Dude, I argue with facts and the facts are Beasley was the Cowboys leading receiver in 2016.

The Pro Bowl game is dying a slow death and fans want big names/playmakers on the field that's where the votes go.

The fan voting has almost nothing to do with who goes to the Pro Bowl. It's almost entirely because of the players' votes and coaches' votes.

Selections to the Pro Bowl are still based on voting rather than what players had the best seasons. Anytime there's voting there's going to be a bias and a lot of players will get voted in based on reputation.

Lol Bryant had what 40 yards less than Beasley ,3 more touchdowns and on top of that missed 3 or so games........so how on earth did Beasley have a better year?

Even if he played all 16 games, he wasn't on track for 1,000. The 8 TDs is nice, but I don't feel this is deserved.

One thing he isn't is Michael Irvin. Irvin brought it not just every game, but ever snap. Dez? Not so much.

Dez had a down year while Beasley had a career year but no one wants to see a Cole Beasley, they would much rather see a Dez Bryant regardless what kind of regular season he had. If you're going to replace a big name like Julio Jones you need another star receiver who'll sell tickets and draw TV viewers. The Pro Bowl game has really lost it's luster and the league is making all kinds of changes to keep fans interested in the game but it appears it's on its way out.

I believe it had to do with his Playoff performance

Being named to the Pro Bowl to replace another player because they're going to be playing in the SB really tarnishes the honor.
Spoken for truth!!!

Move the Pro Bowl back to after the SB.

The best thing they've done is move it to the week prior to the SB. No one is in the mood for football after the SB especially the Pro Bowl. At least having the Pro Bowl the week before the SB fills the dead week with a game as kind of a prelim/appetizer for the main event.

Like most people said, I think his playoff performance got him the nod. He had an off year, but he still had those moments. He balled out vs Detroit and vs GB in the playoffs. I think it's deserved. Good for him.
