It's not a football thing for me. I just hate that people like this exist. I'm sure in Skip's head he's playing a role and it's all entertainment. He's a virus as far as I'm concerned.

I completely get it, Idgit. He's pure bombast and a hot-take extraordinaire. He also slighted one of our most beloved Cowboys of all time. @Wayne02's reasoning, which is so understandable.

I get it.

What I don't get are the "how could any Cowboys fan like this" comments, because, well, I do (not directed at you, Idgit).

Yep, its pretty much the whole garb together. Cant believe his wife and mother arent telling him how foolish he looks. Maybe that is the problem.
I really do disagree. I too remember seeing Dez on the sideline during the game. What I saw was a guy who was genuinely excited when his teammates made a play. I saw him as the consummate player, supporting his team and actively encouraging them. His hoodie didn't make him look foolish at all.

What I don't want to see is my head coach take a break to eat a hot dog while the other team eats us alive. I don't want to see my players laughing and joking on the sideline after putting forth no effort on the field. I've seen players in the 70's show up with fur coats, gigantic glasses and glorious perms. Now the kids show up in hoodies and gold chains. Seriously, none of that matters. Play hard. Earn your money. And in a perfect world, be appreciative that you get to do what you do for a living.

If it helps, I understand that some do like him. I just can't for the life of me understand why. :)

Bkight, ratings for his new show are up 358% for that time slot, and the 18-49 demo 733%

It has siphoned viewers from First Take, who's ratings are down by 28% over Undisputed's first month.

A lot of people are watching FS1, now. Whether it's hate-watching or otherwise, that's pointless to their execs.

I think it's funny that so many of y'all hate these shows. Get a grip (not directed at you Bkight).

ETA -- FS1 on DirecTV is lumped right in the middle of the sports channels, no where close the the news/political channels.
That is what I am saying .....every promo is talking about the Cowboys....he is desperate to get ratings for his new show and will use Dez, Romo and any Cowboy controversy he can

Why? I like when these coward mediots get called out!!!

It's not good for a player to call them out especially on Twitter/Facebook or any social media site they're just fueling the fire of the one who made the comment, giving them the attention they want. You're just opening the door for every joe blow to take a shot to try and get a reaction. Once people see what gets your screws grinding they'll keep coming.

Well, Idgit, for me it's incredible exposure for our Boys. We are the hot debate every day. They often have very eloquent, intelligent guest analysts who further discuss our Boys and balance out the bombast.

And every show has debates that are daily threads here, believe it or not. That is no exaggeration, either.

You guys really hate the guy :D
I've disliked the practice of media heads transparently elevating their on-air/online personas equal to that of the sports stars they talk about for decades. To be completely honest, eliminating the practice would make them bland and boring. I'm guilty as charged for having that preference but here's the thing. Some viewers/listeners/readers like me care everything about news or sports talk and nothing for greed-inspired showmanship. I love bland, talking-from-the-background presentation. Sports and the players who make up the sports are the story. Media heads aren't and never should be in my opinion.

Ok we can agree to disagree. I would want my players dressing like they have some class. I like the NBA policy to be honest. But that is indoors. Cant expect guys to wear suits on football sidelines.

Put it this way...............how many other players do you see dressing like that? Not many if any at all.

He talked about the Cowboys all the time on First Take too. It's just what he does.

Maybe Twitter and the Internet spoiled us tho too ya know
IMO, it's a generational thing. The networks are targeting the young male market (18-35) with their pre/post game formats. That's not a bad thing, that's what they should be doing to attract the largest audience. Personally, I haven't fit that demographic in almost three decades. I don't use twitter (I don't even text), but I do love the internet for all my Cowboys-related news (and chat, like this). I'll let the young'uns have all the pre/post game fun and just limp my tired old body off into the sunset with head hanging and tears strolling...at least I got to personally witness five SB Championships. :)

I respect the hell out of that, East, and I get it. I also like the no-nonsense sports journalism, but it just doesn't exist (like you and others have alluded to). I think maybe the closest would be the Dan Patrick show on NBCSN, East. But even he is a bit of a personality (albeit, incredibly toned down compared to his counterparts).

Vin Scully needed a sports show, but he's done, unfortunately.

I hear you and I certainly appreciated it from Landry. So, I understand the perspective. But, for me, from the players on the sidelines, I just want to see them support their team the best that they can. I think Dez does a good job of that. No amount of dressing up would give me positive feelings about a guy who did otherwise.

wearing suits to a basketball game is idiotic ....... hard sole shoes on the surface is terrible and even the coaches wearing suits it stupid......wear some Khalkis and a team polo and some sneakers....everyone wants to be Pat Riley

Funny. I just thought of something hypocritical.

I would probably watch some of these shows if they replaced the men with female sports journalists. I can deal with screaming people spewing nonsense who are, at least, better looking. :)

I'm a hypocritic AND a chauvinist. :( Please make it happen. :p
