Funny. I just thought of something hypocritical.

I would probably watch some of these shows if they replaced the men with female sports journalists. I can deal with screaming people spewing nonsense who are, at least, better looking. :)

I'm a hypocritic AND a chauvinist. :( Please make it happen. :p
Too me it is the opposite..... I can't listen to women that have never played football or baseball tell me about the sports I have been playing and watching for 40 years

I don't watch these shows for eye candy.

I don't watch these shows for eye candy........that is what Fox News is for......women know politics

Kristi Scales knows more about football than 99.23% of men. Where can I find a wife like that!? Wood'ys Girl knows her stuff! But that's all I can think of...

I was joking (mostly). Still, we differ on the issue. Anyone, regardless of gender, who knows their stuff, is alright with me. I've seen my share of males who should be gagged (Joe Buck..?) and prevented from talking about (at least certain) sports. That's just me though.

For those that missed it this morning here is the video talking about Dez and his tweet with Skip

I was with him until he said Dez was some kind of out of control guy at Valley Ranch / The Star... Where did that come from?

This is why I said that I wish he would just stay away from national media guys.

Now Shannon Sharpe is calling him petty and thin skinned and why does what skips think bother him so much blah blah blah.

You have to ignore these guys and act like they don't exist.

This whole video started from a tiny little tweet.

That is what I am saying .....every promo is talking about the Cowboys....he is desperate to get ratings for his new show and will use Dez, Romo and any Cowboy controversy he can
They're featured no less than 2 segments every show I've seen. Usually 3 with other mentions in the "expert"(Mangini or Lombardi) segment.

I'm not a Skip Bayless fan never watched any of his shows, only the clips that are shown here but nothing wrong with him trying to get ratings. If Dez would have ignored his comment this thread wouldn't exist and Skip wouldn't have a big segment on his show talking about it.

I wasn't trying to paint a picture of Dez as a villain, that's the picture you got. How long did Dez need to tell Butler how to secure the ball? Instead of allowing Butler to forget about it and try and move on, Dez made an ordeal out of it by continuing to stay on him. We still had a game going on and needed Butler's head in the game not him stewing over a drop. Whatever Dez was saying wasn't making him feel better.

Dez didn't need to take it as far as he did. It started from the time Butler was coming off the field, to the bench. Dez stood there with him, then decided to sit next to him and keep going until Butler looked like he had just lost the SB. Butler should have turned to Dez and told him if he knew how to secure the ball all the way through the contact of the ground we might have beat the Packers 2 years ago in the playoffs and Dak would have had an extra TD pass this year and we might be 5-0.

Wonder how well Dez would have taken that? lol Dez has had his share of drops, he dropped a critical 3rd down pass vs Tampa last season that helped cost us that game. Don't think he would have taken it well if one of his teammates kept chirping at him over it. Dez is an emotionally player who has trouble letting things go.
The fact you just blamed him for the loss in Green Bay tells me everything i need to know about you. The same catch last year got Arizona thru to the next round. So what you are saying is Larry Fitz can talk because the rule worked for him, but Dez cant because the rule went against him? The whole Butler thing you are referring to is a moot point. Butler himself said, he appreciated what Dez did. Unless you are in the locker room, or can read minds, you have no right nor reason to state otherwise, and neither do I for that matter. For the record, the drop in the end-zone in Tampa was BLATANT pass interference. He was literally pushed before the ball got there. Jerry Rice wouldnt have caught that ball. Keep going though, your agenda is showing.

Really? No chicks that I know like it. If Dez thinks he is getting checks because of his big gold chain, then he is sorely mistaken. But then again, I dont know what kind of chicks he hangs out with.
Bro I'm in the same boat. That's just what they said to me. The ladies I hang around don't like that but like I said that's what their response was lol. I was curious about the lion medallions.
I don't wear any myself cause it doesn't look right. I tried once. Had a nice thick platinum one, my girl made me take it off. But to each their own. I wear holey jeans sometimes and I'm sure some peeps find that objectionable. Not gonna please everyone :)

Skip does his job and does it well. He gets all these athletes and fans riled up. He stays relevant and earns his check that way.

Dez needs to worry about trying to actually play a full season and helping the team rather than going back and forth with Skip.

LOL Where did I blame Dez for the loss to Green Bay? What a ridiculous spin that was. I said Butler should have turned to Dez and told him if he knew how to secure the ball all the way through the contact of the ground we might have beat the Packers 2 years ago in the playoffs. Saying we "might" have won a game isn't saying he lost the game for us...get real! Our defense lost that game. As for the Larry Fitzgerald catch in the playoffs that was different than what happened with Dez. Some of you still don't understand the rule. After Fitz caught the ball he made a slight turn up field which was considered a football move and that he established himself as a runner, so when he went to the ground and lost the ball the catch had already been completed due to establishing himself as a runner. As for Butler's comments what was he suppose to say, that Dez was pissing him off?

Not everything Dez says to a teammate is appreciated or Hardy would have welcomed his comments with open arms on the sidelines last season instead of getting pissed off. Something started the shouting match between Dez and Witten 3 years ago on the sidelines. Ware came up to Dez, not Witten so it's pretty obvious who got it started and wouldn't let it go. As for the drop vs Tampa I'm not referring to the one in the endzone, I'm referring to the drop he had on a critical 3rd and one that hit him right in the hands in the 4th quarter . That was a BLATANT drop!

On third-and-1 from the Cowboys' 18, Cassel threw a quick pass to the left sideline intended for Bryant. And Bryant dropped the ball that would have given the Cowboys a first down with less than four minutes to play.

Dez plays hard trying to help team win gets injured=bad Dez
Dez thanks someone for having his back against a known agitator and slander=bad Dez
Dez try's and help teammate after teammate drops a potential touchdown=bad Dez

Trying to figure out what has Dez done that merits these unreasonable responses.

IMO, it's a generational thing. The networks are targeting the young male market (18-35) with their pre/post game formats. That's not a bad thing, that's what they should be doing to attract the largest audience. Personally, I haven't fit that demographic in almost three decades. I don't use twitter (I don't even text), but I do love the internet for all my Cowboys-related news (and chat, like this). I'll let the young'uns have all the pre/post game fun and just limp my tired old body off into the sunset with head hanging and tears strolling...at least I got to personally witness five SB Championships. :)
Do you not feel like not learning the world of texting or are you taking a stand against it morally

Nothing to do with morality. I just feel like that if I need to talk to someone or they need to talk to me, then I can call them or they can call me. I just recently got to where I actually leave my phone turned on (old flip phone) and actually carry it on me. I just see young people constantly staring at their phones and get the feeling that they spend at least half of their lives looking at them. My wife actually got me one of those fancy phones a little while back and I got rid of it in about a week. The one I have works just fine for my needs. Having said all that, I certainly don't have anything against those who disagree with my take. If I were younger, I'd probably spend half my life staring at one of those things, too. :)

We kinda of agree. When I smoke mariujana I never even think of my phone. They're not ultimately rewarding.

But it is a tool and at times can be useful. Some people don't want to stop Everything they're doing just to answer the phone and confirm that yes they will be waiting outside on five minutes. Sometimes you call sometimes you text. Sometimes you stay awake in bed and chat all night and sometimes you're just too tired and need a nice back rub and some matlock

My daughters say the same thing...people don't always want to stop what they're doing to answer he phone. But they always stop what they're doing to look at and reply to a text, which leads to 20 further texts/responses. Just easier to chat on the phone foe a minute and be done.
