During the game, he looked pretty dis interested and just going through the motions. Then the dropped pass on 3rd down.

Terrible game for him.

the dehydration for sure, not sure about the broken foot

It was pointed out on NFL Network by Nate Burleson that a player can lose some strength in their feet if they're not practicing or running hard and missing games. Can't see where that would relate to breaking a bone but he seemed to think it could.

I don't know how much stock I'd put in Burleson for medical advice but I could see ligaments, muscles and such being effected by not playing/practicing but a bone I don't see

He claimed your bones can become weakened by not putting a lot of weight on them when missing time. He said a lot of pressure it applied to the feet as a receiver and it could result in a broken bone.

I highly doubt Dez was just kicked up not doing anything at all while he was holding out and not playing in preseason.

I don't think it's about not doing anything it's about not going as hard. In games players go all out and season openers are the first time in 8 months players have gone all out. Not saying that's what caused Dez's injury but you could tell he wasn't use to going real hard for a sustained period due to becoming dehydrated.
