Every season the Cowboys lose games that should have been wins because they're a mediocre team that has a defense with more holes than Bonnie and Clyde's death car. What should have been a win vs the Lions in week 8 last season turned into a loss because the Cowboys find ways to lose games even to other mediocre teams. What should have been a win vs Green Bay 7 weeks later turned into an embarrassing loss at home even though the Packers were being led by a journeymen QB because the Cowboys are what they are a mediocre team. When you root for a team that loses as often as the Cowboys all FANS have is what should have been to hang their hats on.

You are right, and whats worse is a terrible Defense combined with a coach that has terrible clock manangement. Even with this being a mediocre team, and a terrible defense, if we had a coach that understood clock management we still would/could have been 10-6 with no way for the defense to lose it for us. Its a shame when you think about it.

No. What's he's saying is very legit. He should have had 1-3 game winning TDs. It's not the offenses fault nor Dez's that the D was so bad. Not sure how someone can't understand that.
The benefit in trading DB is that we don't break open the bank in trying to sign this guy. I don't trust a guy with issues but take that off the table and look at the money saved (13-16 mil per) and sign a free agent that helps an area of need. Remember none of the champions spend big money on WR. None. Now Dallas gets a few early round picks that are on rookie salary. Dallas would have got a few nice years from DB and now gets a group of even younger players and contracts that replace him. You always have the option to go out and get a FA. DB will NEVER be worth more than he is now on the trade market.

yap, thats what great teams do is trade their studs to save money while they are in their prime. makin plenty sense now.

also crazy that year before last people were comparing him to Hakeem Nicks and concluding that Dez wasn't quite as good. Now Nicks spiraled down hill while Dez kept escalating his game and now Dez is an all star while Nicks got devalued so badly he was flat out released.

Reminds me a little of the Witten/Shockey comparisons early in their careers. There were plenty of people who felt that Shockey was the better, more dynamic TE. The fact that he undermined his QB on a regualr basis by running wherever he wanted to didn't seem to matter. Mentioning Shockey in the same breath as Witten is now laughable. The Dez/Nicks comparisons may very well turn out the same way.

I just want to be able to see our D come on to the field in the last 5 minutes of a game without getting that sick feeling in my stomach.

Or at the end of a half when we have just taken a lead. Seems more often than not the opposition , especially Giants, march right down and score in some form or another.

The sad part is that the defense lost those games but Romo gets blamed. I still have images of Dez quitting on his team and trying to fight Witten. He has the talent and heart to be great but his head just isn't there.
