Dez is a bigger problem than Dak

3 catches
5 targets
37 yards
$70 million dollar contract

In yet another game we needed him to ball out, he came up short.

Dallas needs to strongly consider severing ties with Dez this summer and draft a WR1.
What they need is some speed at receiver.

I don't think Dak and Dez will ever be on the same page. They have never meshed well. Dak plays not to lose, Romo played to win. When Dallas was 2 scores or more behind when Romo was here, I always thought Dallas had a chance. With Dak, he just cannot let it loose and effectively open the risk window. Different mentality of a player. When Zeke is in, Dallas can be more methodical on offense... Drives are better sustained, the machine keeps chugging along. Dak will not get you those quick points needed at times like Romo. He is not that kind of QB. As much as I hate to say it Dez needs to go to another team where he can be the man. Its a style conflict with Dez on the team. Love him to death though and think he still has it in him to be top 10 to top 5 dominant with another QB.

So you guy wanted them to stop throwing Dez the ball.....so in return they gave you a bunch of 2 yard routes from Witten to tickle your fancy. Dez isn't the problem. I don't care what any of you say. The routes he's asked to run is laughable. Beasley and Terrance as well. Sure, these guys are flawed.....but this route tree is elementary. Dak wants to throw to open receivers......none of them are open now....yet, we are shocked why we are struggling.....
And you watch Rivers throw with touch and anticipation. He throws his receiver open. Dak chucks it at a blue jersey standing still.

A QB can't function without good receivers or a really creative offensive coordinator. The Cowboys have neither.

Which is why Zeke is so important. Without him, teams just defend the pass. They're not worried about Morris/Smith gaining 3 or 4 yards because neither of them are going to bust an 80 yard TD on them.

The Chargers had multiple receivers who are faster than any of ours. Who is our threat to run by a defense - T Will? Dez isn't going to do it. Our receivers need defenses to fear play action. Without Zeke, they don't.

8 games with Zeke: 28 points per game

3 games without Zeke: 7 points per game

It's not a coincidence, and it's not Dak.

Honestly....Rivers threw it to wide open Keenan Allen all day. I'd watch replays and he would do nothing special. Rivers would just sit back for 5 seconds and wait for him to get open.

Rivers is also a borderline HoF QB who has been playing for like 15 years.

Right. And that's a big problem these guys have......they expect Dak to be a vet.....and I admit, he played like one last season.....but at the end of the day...he's not a pro. He's a rookie.

1st off. Dak is scared to throw it deeper than 10 yards because his arm is week and doesn't trust it to get there. When it gets there, it could be anywhere in the WRs vicinity, usually not.

2nd off. Our scheme calls for guys to just beat their man. haha, what scheme calls for that in 2017? OURS. We have no bunch formations, pick plays, confusing routes, all of our receivers have guys draped all over them.

3rd off. This coaching staff is the worst coaching staff I've ever seen. We run the same routes every game. How many times do we need to see Witten run 4 yards and turn around on 3rd and 8? Right now, I can probably name about 8 plays we run off the top of our head.

Patrick Crayton was on the radio the other day talking about defenses calling out their plays and their routes. He was thinking, LET'S CHANGE THIS UP, LETS' CHANGE THIS UP. And this was when Garrett was here.

Personally, I'd fire every coach, wrap this team up and try to get the highest draft pick I could possibly get, package whatever and go for a QB top pick. Then I'd hire the best young innovative Head Coach around and allow him to hire everyone. I'm sick of this franchise.

So what happens if Zeek gets hurt next year and is out for 10 games?

More bad than good with Crayton.

Robinson's career ended shortly after he departed because he sustained a terrible concussion, not because he couldn't play without Romo.

In 2011 he had 11 TD's in 14 games with Romo
In 2012 he had 0 TD's in 7 games with Jacksinville

But OK then, Romo had nothing to do with it.

Crayton had 9 TD catches in his last 2 seasons with Romo
He had 2 TD catches in his first 2 seasons with Rivers in SD after leaving Dallas.

But again, OK, Romo had nothing to do with it.

They cashed in big because of Romo.

I won't even get into Austin's numbers post Romo because it ain't even worth it and you probably can guess them.

Cheers.

Time to trade Dez to New England for a conditional 6th where he can deliver old bones Brady #7.....

I have to agree here. Dez has lost a step, quickness, something? I want him on the jump ball when in the red zone, but that’s about all he’s got right now. His salary says he should be a dominant force...

The problem isn't one or the other, it's both. Dez is and always has been a very limited receiver. Now that he doesn't have Tony throwing to him, and he's lost a couple steps from age and injuries, he's very average. Dez has always been a bad route runner, and his inability to separate from DB's means that Dak is hesitant to throw him the ball.

Dak is very inaccurate on deep passes, fades, and back shoulder throws, so he doesn't fit in with Dez's strengths.

Cut Dez and draft Ridley with our first. A young Marvin Harrison without the murderous personality
