Dez is a bigger problem than Dak

Dez is done here. He is WAY overpaid as is Witten at this point in his career. Massive changes all around are necessary. If they don't happen, ...... more of the same. This isn't rocket surgery.

Who're you gonna replace Dez and Witten with?

If the line is decent and the run game at least marginal, a good QB can be just fine with average WRs.
But yes, a little more creativity by the OC would help.
And of course, stud players at any position always helps:flagwave:

I don't think Dak and Dez will ever be on the same page. They have never meshed well. Dak plays not to lose, Romo played to win. When Dallas was 2 scores or more behind when Romo was here, I always thought Dallas had a chance. With Dak, he just cannot let it loose and effectively open the risk window. Different mentality of a player. When Zeke is in, Dallas can be more methodical on offense... Drives are better sustained, the machine keeps chugging along. Dak will not get you those quick points needed at times like Romo. He is not that kind of QB. As much as I hate to say it Dez needs to go to another team where he can be the man. Its a style conflict with Dez on the team. Love him to death though and think he still has it in him to be top 10 to top 5 dominant with another QB.

Want to know another Qb that played not to lose early in their career? Tom Brady. Remind me, how many Super Bowls does he have and how many did Romo end up with?

Everyone on the team only runs a few routes. Dez, Beasley or Witten.

Defenders have been saying, literally for years, that our offense is predictable.

But don't let objectivity get in the way of your Anti-Dez Crusade.

This is actually very very true.

Defenders have been saying it for many years. It’s rather sad.

Honestly, just as a fan who watched every game, I know what routes the receivers are going to run on most plays, after I see them line up in their formation.

So if I can pick it up, you damn sure know defensive coordinators and professional players know exactly what they’re doing.

call me crazy but... Tom Brady didnt always had GREAT PRIME receieves did he? Stop trying to fiture out what is wrong. one of THE main issues is the POOR PATHETIC coaching staff we have.

You're right and during those times Brady had one hell of a defense. Something Dak has yet to see, except on opposing teams, his entire career.

Also.. do not get me wrong... I AM IN NO WAY placing Dak even near the levels of Tom Brady. I am just saying that the biggest issue is the pathetic coaching staff we have.

Do you just make things up?

The guy played four years before Dallas and two years he got injured and the other two, he didn’t even break over 450 yards playing the same amount as in Dallas, where he doubled his production. He had 11 TDs with Romo and never broke 2 befirecor after that. The year he played after Romo he was back to his normal pace.
He only played in 7 games after departing Dallas due to concussion issues. He had 6 and 9 catches in the two games before the career ending concussion.

Veteran WRs find ways to get open and help out a young QB. Ours can't. Tony Romo spent his entire career running for his life and extending plays trying to buy time for these slobs to get into position to make a play. And at the most critical times what did he get for his troubles? Drops and a broken back.

The Cowboys finally just threw in the towel and drafted a top 5 RB. Which the NFL promptly sent packing.

What a mess.

Our wide receivers either suck or our coaching is just that bad...

Every week throughout the NFL I see wide receivers making very difficult catches. Our wide receivers have trouble making routine catches. Our best pass catcher and route runner is Jason Witten, he's 35 and slow ... somethings wrong with our talent evaluators in the front office or we new better coaching??? At this point I would sit Williams and split his snaps between Butler and Brown, it wouldn't hurt to start taking snaps away from Witten and see if any of the current tight ends are suitable replacements...

Jerry, is that you? Dez and Witten have both seen better days, especially Witten. Both of their extensions have proven to be mistakes.

Clinging to knowns out of fear for the unknown isn't a recipe for success. So unless you think those guys are keys to a future title clinging to them out of fear will get you nowhere.

He only played in 7 games after departing Dallas due to concussion issues. He had 6 and 9 catches in the two games before the career ending concussion.

1. He only played 7 games, meaning he never played a full season like two other seasons as a WR, meaning totally unreliable.

2. And ZERO TDs in this seven games.

3. And a whopping 252 yards in seven games total.

4. And 41 yards on those 6 catches and 77 on 9 catches, meaning a whopping 6.5 YPC..

5. So basically back to his career numbers without Romo, which was close to a thousand yards and 11 TDs?

And your sitting here talking about Dez sucking, while defending this guy’s numbers as not being because of Romo and QB play..

Who are you trying to fool?

Dez is a problem because of the amount of money he makes.
Are there any capologists here that can shed any opinions or light on the Dez situation? Yes. I called it a situation because it is clearly that now...

We have a #1 WR that's out there playing like a #4.....

Please tell me about those great WRs that did anything once they were playing without Aaron Rodgers...

Just playing devils advocate here.

How many plays have our WR’s made without Demarco Murray or Zeke pulling the safeties into the box to create more space for them?

This will be relevant when either of them gets Bill as a coach along with a consistently good defense.

Teams win, not players.
