I said it would have been tough trading him with an injury but it wasn't a season ender and the trade deadline was nearing the time he was set to return so some team might have pulled the trigger. A lot easier trading a receiver on a one year deal than to trade them after just paying them 32M and having to eat it.

So your plan was to hope some GM was dumb enough to get hosed, knowing that he was still injured.

I would rather have Dez for the next 4/47m than a 4th or 5th round pick.

Dez was injured in the opener and the trade deadline was Nov 3 so he could have been traded before then. Granted it would have been difficult trading him with an injury but some team might have seen it as an opportunity and pulled the trigger. The team was already in a deep hole by then at 2-5 and could have cashed him in like they did with Walker several games into the 89 season. Right now the Cowboys are stuck for 32M and will be stuck for another 13M the first day of the 2016 league year. This will end up being a bad contract if Dez can't return to form. Jerry has already been screwed the first year of it.

This is all based on an assumption that The Cowboys and JJ wanted to even trade Dez. Never once has that ever been remotely thought of but by people here on this board.

Maybe now people will realize he was playing hurt all season and rushed back to try and help this team. I'm sure the dez bashers on here will attribute this to his bad attitude and his monkey.

When you get out on the field and don't do your job at a high level, you're going to get criticized. If he was hurt, he shouldn't have been out there, and I don't necessarily blame Dez for that because the players will always try to play through injuries. The coaches should be held accountable for allowing him to be out on the field. He hurt this team more than he helped it by being out there.

I have no plan but with the season heading in the toilet without Romo, Jerry could have dangled Dez out there for a trade had he franchised him. A contending team might have pulled the trigger and I can assure you the offers would have been a lot better than a 4th or 5th round pick. lol Chip Kelly said after Philly traded for Bradford he got a call from a team offering a #1 for him and Bradford has put up average numbers his entire career and was coming off back to back ACL's.

Trading Dez didn't come up outside this board that I'm aware of but allowing him to walk was discussed on NFLN because it was obvious Jerry was nervous about resigning him to a contract that included a lot of guaranteed money. Jerry didn't trust him with a lot of money but finally gave in knowing he lost Murray in free agency and Dez was threatening to miss games. Jerry couldn't risk entering the season without Murray and Dez.

But you posted that in response to a statement about this season. Your non sequitur doesn't relate.

lol, ok, continue on with just this season. Heaven forbid that ANYONE ever make a comment about a player that the masses don't agree with because of rose colored glasses. Continue on. I hope you save some orange kool-aid for me because it's my fav...

Do you feel better now?

About the same? How about you? Thanks for the non-football response. I'll leave this post because it's obvious that 88's jock washers want to continue to sniff away at them so I'll let y'all continue...

That's what I'm worried about, he doesn't come across as Terrell Owens type in that area to begin with

Huh? The dude has always been known as a workout warrior.................every pic you ever see of this dude, he's ripped.

How do you explain the multiple drops?

This is what Shannon Sharpe basically said to Skip the other day on First Take...................shut it down if you know you can't really help your team. These guys competitive drive can be both a gift (why they're successful) and a curse (don't know when to quit).
