haha. This guy can't be serious.

Dez is indeed elite at this point. He had his knucklehead moments over the years...but you can not deny his talent and desire to win.

Beyond dumb. Watch the games. Dez was getting double and sometimes even triple coverage on every play. There's a reason Witten, Beasley, and T-Will were open so often..

Yup. And when he wasn't Romo went to him with the season on the line and made a catch maybe 5 people on Earth can make.

Romo averaged 12.3 yards per attempt when throwing to Dez in the playoffs, with only one incompletion, and we all know which play that was.

Our coaching staff lets Dez get taken out of the game. Sometimes you just have to force the ball to him, like Romo did on the 4th and 2, and he'll come down with it (provided the refs don't screw us over and call a legit catch incomplete).

I use to tell myself that when my favorite basketball player would get less touches than Alvin Williams in playoff games.

Then I finally had to admit to myself, coaches arent stupid. If my guy could go Kobe on the other teams defense, why would they prevent that?

I finally came to the realization, the reason they didnt feature him was because they didn't feel he was good enough.

Just like your boy Jordy Nelson last week right?

Oh wait, ***, he did worse than Bryant.

OH snap did he actually get shutdown by Carr?

According to his logic, Nelson can't run any routes because he couldn't beat his man.

Dez Bryant ranks 30th in post-season targets this post-season despite the fact he played 2 games and half of the guys above him played 1 game.

He had 7 total targets this post-season for an average of 3.5 targets per game. That's a pathetic number of targets -- at least it seems that way to me.

He is tremendous when they throw him the ball but let's be honest with ourselves -- it's not very often.

He is the best red-zone threat we've seen in the league in many years, however, outside the red-zone it seems to me that isn't very open very often. For reasons I don't fully understand he doesn't get the seperation you see some of the other top guys get -- I don't know if it is because he is such a big WR who needs to pick up a head of steam OR if it's simply the design of the offense.

Are you referring just to the two playoff games, or in general?

He had one of the highest target rates in the league during the regular season -- 29 percent of our pass attempts were to him. He finished 12th in total targets even though we finished 31st in pass attempts.

Don't let the New York officials' "judgement" take away from what a great play Dez made. He secured the ball. Like everybody else he thought he had already completed the process because he had. I will never fault him for trying to get as much as he could after making what should've been one of the greatest catches in Cowboys playoff history.

I felt like we got bent by the officials in the game and it wasn't just the Dez catch. Dez did catch the ball. There is no question in my mind he made a football move to score. I think we got ****ed hard by the officials. But Dez first concern should have been to make sure he made the catch clearly and cleanly. The ambiguity is what allowed the refs to **** us on the play. He should have been aware of the situation. That is why romo goes to Witten as often as he does .... He seldom makes mental mistakes.

1. We only threw the ball 19 times against Green Bay.

2. This doesn't include the catch that was taken away.

3. This doesn't include the PI for about 25 yards (so you can add effectively 2 catches for roughly 55 yards against Green Bay which would make him the most productive receiver on the team against Green Bay).

4. Dez was basically getting triple teamed for most of the game. They would bump him with a linebacker, have a corner cover him with a safety over the top.

If you can't see how Dez opens up the passing game and the running game for this team, then I don't know what else I could tell ya.

Dez is almost an instant touchdown if he isn't double covered. We really need to look at why our other receivers aren't getting as open as often when they're single covered.

I'm not a fan of using the whole "Well Dez is double covered" argument but it rings true in this sense. I'm not going to fault him because Romo felt more comfortable throwing to guys in single coverage. Its just how our offense is built. Its built to take advantage of guys in single coverage and that doesn't happen without Dez.
