This is a thread about Dez commenting on people turning on Dak. That's the literal thread topic.

The personal stuff I'm leaving alone again because it's not worth replying to.

Then talk about Dak and stop trying to conflate things that don't go together

That's just it, the reaction of faithless fans is the same for both players. Dez migh be talking about Dak here as context, but it's hardly a stretch to suggest he probably feels the same way about his own critics or that those two groups don't have a lot of overlap. I don't know what you're going on about, really, but it's pretty obvious what he's saying here.

Enough said, but I'll add;

I am not one to begrudge fans some amount of angst when things are bad, we all get frustrated.

But the people on this forum ready to jump off a bridge (or rather, force someone else off one) while the team was 12-2 should be embarrassed at their weakness.
Exactly. I understand complaining when we're struggling but we are 12-2 and nobody expected that this year especially being led by a rookie QB.

Honestly, I put most of it on sports media. They'd been waiting to pounce for 3 months. And when they finally got their chance, they were all over it like stink on ****.

I spent a lot of last week on these forums begging people to show a little backbone and support Dak. But to little avail. The media had everyone entranced with their Romo vs. Dak narrative.

Media had some to do with it. But at this point we just have to admit that there are some here we refuse to fully appreciate Dak or this season at the expense of their boy Romo. They feel he is owed the starter position for reasons ranging from he's the better player to he deserves it b/c how Jerry "screwed" him all these years.

“I’m talking to the fake Cowboy fans, I’m talking to the bandwagons, I’m just talking about everybody,” Bryant said. “First off, just jump off. Jump off. Like we lost one game [after an 11-game winning streak]. We were 11-2. Like c’mon, man, this guy put us in this position and you just get to talking crazy. You know, we have one bad game, it’s crazy. This is why everybody gets blocked out.

“We’ve got to stick together and we’ve got to focus on ourselves and not paying attention to the noise. Like the fake praise, we’ve got to treat the fake praise like hate. It’s all the same.”

i dont like the way he says it. But he's right. I know a few nfl players Lorenzo Neal, James "the toast" Williams lol and a couple others and they have told me most nfl players dont like fans because of their way of thinking. That being a fan makes them able to criticize them for any little thing as if they can do what they do.

Ive had dialogue with Dez and he's a cool guy that i think tries to be a little too outspoken in social media and real media. But you cant ignore what he says here because its facts. Find a rookie who has done what Dak has done. He's played this yr without his star WR his superstar LT for multiple weeks. And you can argue that he played his best football without both.

If you were bothered by the "fake fan" comment, then yes, you should be. He's talking about you.

I'm bothered by it, and ive been a Cowboys fan since I was born. I've never once rooted for another team.

Can you imagine being the best in the world at something every little kid grows up dreaming of being able to do, playing so hard to play with broken bones or lacerated spleens or punctured lungs or a day after your dad dies....and then having a horde of slobby knuckle draggers with onion-breath and cheese dip on their Chinese knock-off jerseys screaming at you anonymously over the internet telling you they think you're a heartless bum who's never accomplished anything and who's just in it for the money and that it's their right to act like idiots because the team they bought the knock-off jersey for hasn't won it all in 20 years?

I can't imagine anybody putting up with that noise and not resenting the hell out of it.

I think some forget that Dez lost his father a couple of weeks ago. That can take a toll on anybody. And he has played pretty well the last 4 or 5 games. Everyone deserves a bad game once in a while.

Don't forget fat.

It's even more embarrassing when it was common knowledge that Dez' dad died a few weeks ago. He doesn't play his best games, and it's "Dez is a diva, bench Dez, Dez is overrated".

I have 0 problem saying most of those people are probably completely toxic in real life.

Apparently a lot of you did see all the racist crap posted about Dez and Dakota after that game, besides the general whining and moaning about Romo needing to start over Dakota. It's out there it's just not allowed here so don't get it twisted and believe this forum is the norm and even if they don't read that stuff they have family and friends that I'm sure report it to them. Dez is who Dez is, he speaks on it if you don't like it burn his jersey which half on here should have never bought one with the dislike they have for him.

I had to re-read your post a couple of times as the "racist crap" bolted me up! I'm unaware of any sites/blogs of that slant nor would I frequent them but if you say they are out there I wouldn't doubt it.

I know I've barely the time to peruse the influx of info on this site let alone any others,,, the comments section of bleacher report/blogging the boys I'll drop in on and read sometimes.

Dez is who he is ,,,I'm damn glad he pinched a helmet/shoulder pads off a back porch at 15 so he could play the game,,,, hell,I would've stole them for him,,,

The number of people who "wigged out" after one loss is ridiculous. Dak has set how many records along the way (and by the way, he set ANOTHER one last night) ?

Fans have gotten spoiled along the way this year and seem to have completely forgotten about last year.

Sorry folks like you can't understand that we aren't "wigging out," we simply believe a perennial top-five QB like Romo would be more effective running this offense than a rookie. Crazy, I know. LOL. It's all good -- if this is what Cowboys Nation wants, I won't continue to criticize the decision, I'd rather enjoy the season for however long it lasts, rather than be a party pooper. But I give you fair warning, reality doesn't pay attention to the hype.

When was the last time you saw a skinny person with onion-breath and eating cheese dip?

I didn't suggest everybody turned their back on Dez. Only that some fans have.

Why is it that when a fan says something unflatttering about a player, which is true, it is labeled as player hating or "turning your back on a player".

Sometimes unflattering facts are just unflattering facts. Sometimes complaints about a player you root for are justified. Why is that so hard to see?

I am enjoying the records but it is all meaningless if we go one and done in the playoffs. It looks like we have hitched our wagon to Dak so I hope he wins it all for us.

Part of me prefers Dak due to his protection of the football. But part of me believes with Romo at the helm we would be setting all world stats and scoring 50 points per game.

I'm not calling out any fake fans because I don't care, paid to work construction not watch Dallas fans implode like an old casino. BUT- there sure are a lot of people getting offended and calling him dumb, and a few other names.... he may not be as smart as you Einsteins but he doesn't have to be, you could never do what he does and yet feel free to diminish him as a person. Definition.

Youre right. I would never hit my own mother

What can I say about Dez Bryant? He may be the dumbest player to ever wear that uniform. You just kind of De Niro grin at him and just look the other way.

Dez has had some great games, but his last great game was probably before he signed his last contract. He has been like Casper the friendly ghost against the Giants. He has disappeared in the games that he should be bringing his A game.
