Dez showed up to today's workout

I think it was a fair assumption given Dez's recent history.

I don't think the board melted down at all. Some (like myself) questioned his commitment as a teammate since he was not there.

Now the facts have been presented and we know it was a family thing. But I don't think it was a bad assumption given Dez's history.

Or, at least, given your assumptions about his history. How many of the other items in his history might have extenuating circumstances, one way or another, that you know nothing about.

No matter how you slice it, people jumped to the wrong conclusion this time. They really should know better since it's something that happens with regularity around here. Don't you think?

He showed up?!! YAY!! My life is complete now..
Not news at all...

As predictable as the overreactions are those who try to downplay legitimate concerns.

TO with Werder, Dez' journey to maturity. It's hard to find middle ground amidst those who claim it's a major crisis and those who see no evil at all.

Am I concerned about some of Dez behavior's? Yes! Am I dooming him for wearing his pants low or hanging with those who do, or because of his jewelry buying habits? No. But am I concerned about those things being a possible precursor to counter-productive behavior? YES!

It's NEVER a concern for some fans or for the Cowboys publicly, until the day that they release the player.

I do, and there was no credibility to it at all. He just wasnt there, thats all that was reported. None of you even remotely considered that there might be a legit reason why. None of you said one damn word about any of the other players who werent there.

There was absolutely no evidence he was blowing the team off at all. Just a bunch of whiners putting 2+2 together again to = 5

+10 I agree completely

The Saints are practicing so hard they have to drag the bodies off the field. :laugh2:

So you're saying Dez gets the same credibility as someone like Jason Witten?

Do you think ANYONE would have questioned if Jason Witten were not there? No, because we all know who he is.

Dez has a less proven track record for being a committed teammate, and has got into a few silly incidents this offseason that were minor distractions. Again, I don't think we were too far off base assuming the worse with him given his track record.

Granted, we should have waited for the facts to be revealed, but other than that Dez doesn't have the best of track records to form opinions off of.

One thing we do know for certain, Dez loves to play football. If he is not there, he probably has a very good reason.

What the reason given to the press is and what the real reason is sometimes much different.

And yes, they jumped to the wrong conclusion myself included. But like I've said if he had a better track record (being late, missing meeting with owner/GM, incident at mall) then people wouldn't jump to the wrong conclusion.

That is a great point. No argument to that.

If that is the case, why did you and the others come to a conclusion or offer your opinion if you don't know his track record?

Is it fun to try and swim up stream...?

Because it's called a mistake. You know, because no one is right 100% of the time. And we know Dez's history. His level of play wasn't why he slipped to us in the draft. His attitude is.

I like my track record though.

You really must have a vendetta against me. Or you REALLY like stirring the pot.

Already said I was wrong.

Why didn't I think about it yesterday? I did think about it, but decided that I had enough information to base my opinion off of it, and was wrong about it. Thought Dez was up to shenanigans again.

What else do you freaking want?

*Stop acting like you're some perfect person of judgement and have never jumped to the wrong conclusion*

I like your track record too. But, don't join the crowd that gets all upset about something until you know all the facts. That's what rational people do.
;)

Romo2Austin cheers out loud about anything negative said about Dez. Don't follow into traps like that.

No argument there. But it's human nature to form an opinion one way or the other when stuff like that get's thrown out.

My view regarding Dez Bryant AWAY from the football field isn't a very good one, so things like that always have me thinking the worst.

Like I said, I know we should wait till all the facts come out, but with players like Dez who have a bit of a history of doing dumb things, it's hard to give them the benefit of the doubt and not jump to conclusions.

Don't you just love the overratctions on message boards? Dez not being there on day 1 will probably continue to be an issue for another week.

No doubt this site is full of over reacting fools who should probably be working for espn.

:laugh2: This boards has a bit of an ESPN farm system presence on it. No doubt.. ESPN will never have a shortage of qualified candidates as long as the Zone is around. :laugh2:

You said your wrong but you keep talking about Dez track record. What track record that includes him missing practice? Dude loves football, tried to practice and play with the bad ankle injury, trainers had to keep him off the field, even wanted to play in the meaningless final preseason game. He doesn't have a track record of missing practice at all. Not sure what you're talking about and frankly I don't think you do either..
