Dez to avoid lining up vs. Sherman?

Sherman lines up almost exclusively against Z receivers (I believe he sometimes plays the slot)

Dez takes most of his snaps at the X, which would have him lined up against Maxwell.

Thoughts?

Dez only had 3 catches for 17 yards two years ago @ Seattle, but if Romo gets protection, Maxwell can be thrown on.

Looks good for Dez then, even wouldn't be concerned if he did go against Sherman. Not concerned with what happened 2 years ago. Like you said, protect Romo, plus we have a better OL & other weapons too.

HELL NO! Dez is an elite receiver, he will eat Shermans lunch. I'm sorry, but Sherman doesn't scare me all that much. Desean and Co were mighty successful against that secondary last night.

Just run your offense, Sherman is not going to dictate where the ball is thrown in IMO.

i agree. i don't have a problem moving dez around some but for the most part i would just run my offense. most importantly run the ball. i rather see sherman tackling murray than covering anyways

Seattle runs a zone. It will be the 'boys choice to where they want Dez lined up. They noted, during the game last night, that Seattle won't assign a DB to a specific receiver.

Correct. their players play their zone and side of the field at all times.

I think Dez wants the matchup. Sherman wants it too. You'll see massive respect from both sides there.

You shouldn't be scared because you're not playing. Sherman is built for bigger receivers, it's the smaller faster receivers that give him trouble, like Jackson, Emmanuel Sanders, and that little quick guy from San Diego. It would be better if he didn't try to have a duel with Sherman.

Seattle plays man-free and cover three. Chancellor is usually in the box.

I'm actually looking forward to watching TWill in single coverage.

They are running the ball 35 time, Sherman won't be a factor.

I'm more worried of their collective defense than what one loud mouth can do. Dez is better than Sherman without question. If one on one, I'd let her rip. However, I'd rather see then slow march down the field, eating clock and wearing the defense down. Keep with your game plan, it's got you at 4-1 and remove the slow play of Romo from game 1, we could possibly have been 5-0.
