Dez to avoid lining up vs. Sherman?

seattle has a good secondary... not just sherman....
the windows will be much smaller, so passes must be accurate...
Safeties must be forced to play the box more.

Sherman lines up almost exclusively against Z receivers (I believe he sometimes plays the slot)

Dez takes most of his snaps at the X, which would have him lined up against Maxwell.

Thoughts?

Dez only had 3 catches for 17 yards two years ago @ Seattle, but if Romo gets protection, Maxwell can be thrown on.

It's possible, but this is one game where I would like to see us force Seattle to load the box.

I would also like to see us spread them out in short yardage situations and run it. Run out of shotgun, or out of 4-wide sets with Murray as the lone setback.

I also think another way to beat Seattle is to just go right at them. Don't try and allow the defense to dictate what we do -- try and bully them up front on the line of scrimmage.

Anybody in the league can be beat. The crowd noise plays a huge factor up there, but if we come out and sustain a good drive en route to an opening score, we can take some air out of the building.

Just run your offense, Sherman is not going to dictate where the ball is thrown in IMO.

Yup,,, it would be wise not to just toss up balls in Sherman's direction but it's handling the pass rush that will dictate how we pass the ball. Give Romo decent time and the ball should get where it needs to be.

Dallas should not allow Sherman to dictate their offense; that's playing to the Seahawks strengths. Green Bay lost to them in the beginning of the season due to playing away from him

Focus on the formula that got the team to 4-1.

Seattle plays man-free and cover three. Chancellor is usually in the box.

I'm actually looking forward to watching TWill in single coverage.
They do basically play Cover 3 man outside, which bodes well for our running game.

We'll need to use a few misdirection runs to use Bruce Irvin's over-aggressiveness against him.

We've definitely got a shot. It should be a good physical game no matter what. Thinking something like how guys were hitting in that SF-SEA playoff game.

Just stick with the gameplan that's been working. It's the correct formula for this offense to be successful. Let your O-Line dominate the game and give Murray the carries to keep Seattle working against him. Your WR's, especially Dez, will have their chances to make plays.

With that being said, you throw to who's open or has the best chance to make a play. And chances are, whoever Sherman is covering usually won't be open or have the best chance at the ball. So one can conclude we'll be going away from Sherman for most of the time, I mean why would you throw into tight coverage? That'd would be just asking for an interception.

If Dallas is able to run the ball, and force the seahawks into more man coverage and Dez is one-on-one with anyone in that secondary then that is where Romo needs to look to go, including Sherman.

Maxwell will be assigned to Bryant on the lion's share of his snaps. Sherman does not spell Maxwell as a rule. He's likely to stay at his left side CB spot. Maxwell is capable at his own spot and should stay put on the right. I'm glad it's like that, 'cause Dez probably has better chances of success that way.

There's so many variables to say they should do this, or that, or yada yada. They'll throw it to the player who's most open or has the highest chance to make a play. Whether that's Dez one on one with Sherman, Williams on a deep go route, or Witten/Beasely underneath. I don't think you target Sherman just to say, "we're not going to let Sherman dictate our game plan". I have no problem if we target Sherman, but not if he's draped all over Dez when Williams/Witten/Beasely is wide open.

Seattle is a different team at home. Are we playing them at their house? I haven't even checked.

Move Dez around like we planned on doing.

I think we have kept a lot of our creative packages and moving Dez around from being seen these first 5 games as we felt we could get by.

The NWO game we showed some of our stuff and then we got ahead and played sound fundamental football on O.

We're going to show these guys the run but some really different plays that they have no tape on also. Watch.

If they do that Witten is going to destroy Wagner. Wagner's good but he's not going to be able to take Witten on all game.

If they have to put Thomas on Witten, Murray is going to get his catches out the backield.

We're going to have to challenge them deep if they bring their safeties down too. Chancellor is usually the one to play closer to the LOS.

I'll take Dez 1 on 1 with any CB in the league all day if they want to do that.

Thats what I would do for the majority of the game, line Dez up opposite of Sherman.

I wouldn't. I would put Bryant against the easiest matchup for him, and that would be Maxwell. I would worry about Terrance Williams dealing with physical press coverage, so I would move him around a bit.

Truthfully, I would have Beasley or Harris line up against Sherman. Sherman has a harder time covering shorter, quicker WRS (which is natural, being that flipping your hips as a taller corner is hard to do).

Play our brand of football and the passing game will take care of itself....

when the safteys are having to come down to help with the run i dont care who they have on the edges I like dez and twill to exploit that match up every time
