If lining Dez up with Sherman will get him some single coverage over the top ill take that all day. Im assuming against Maxwell they will be less incline to leave Dez in single coverage.

I think Dez wants the matchup. Sherman wants it too. You'll see massive respect from both sides there.

Unless Sherman makes a big play, in which case Dez is likely to get the Crabtree treatment. Not sure Sherman's ego accomodates respect for the opposion.

Sherman is way overrated. The guy is rarely in one on one matchups. They are constantly in zone, and swapping receivers, etc. His reputation far exceeds his ability. Not saying he doesn't have ability, but I AM saying he is overrated. Go right at him.

P.S. - I used to love it when Aikman and Irvin would go at Deion. They lost a few, but they won more than they lost.

Sherman does best against big physical receivers while quick shifty guys give him problems. I would line Beasley up against him.

HELL NO! Dez is an elite receiver, he will eat Shermans lunch. I'm sorry, but Sherman doesn't scare me all that much. Desean and Co were mighty successful against that secondary last night.

Define mighty successful. That should include winning, right?

Sherman lines up almost exclusively against Z receivers (I believe he sometimes plays the slot)

Dez takes most of his snaps at the X, which would have him lined up against Maxwell.

Thoughts?

Dez only had 3 catches for 17 yards two years ago @ Seattle, but if Romo gets protection, Maxwell can be thrown on.

Seattle's front seven is good enough to handle the run themselves. That leaves the safeties to sit back in coverage. Dallas needs to run effectively, draw in the safeties, then go downfield. Easier said than done.

I am looking forward to the secondary trying to verbally intimidate Dez though.

I'm more worried of their collective defense than what one loud mouth can do. Dez is better than Sherman without question. If one on one, I'd let her rip. However, I'd rather see then slow march down the field, eating clock and wearing the defense down. Keep with your game plan, it's got you at 4-1 and remove the slow play of Romo from game 1, we could possibly have been 5-0.

I agree with 5-0. We out played San Fran the whole game. 4 turnovers basically handed them 14 points. Besides Dez made Revis look like a high school player before Cromartie injured him

The Cowboys could also be 2-3, seeing as how the Rams gave the game away and Houston should have probably also been a loss. It goes both ways.

Unlike what Arizona may do with Peterson, they don't tend to match Sherman up specifically with anyone.
I doubt we will hide Dez from Sherman anyway, but he naturally lines up on the opposite side more often than not.

Just send Harris over there to b-slap Sherman to the ground a few times just to loosen things up. hehe

I don't think verbal intimidation works against Dez. He enjoys that type of stuff.

Route combinations and accurate throws beat this secondary. You're not just going to be able to line a guy up anywhere and expect him, whether it's Dez or not, to just beat the CB in front of him. Their CBs and Ss are very talented and disciplined playing their zone. Our best shot is our running game keeping us ahead of the chains making the 3rd downs manageable and less predictable.

Sherman respects guys who treat him with respect. He is not someone you want to talk smack to.

From July

The Cowboys receiver was leaving a steakhouse in Beverly Hills when the reporter approached him on the street and, for whatever reason, asked him about the feud between Seattle Seahawks corner Richard Sherman and San Francisco 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree.

"I'm not in that," Bryant responded with his hands in the air. "I respect both players, they're both good players. I love both of their games."

The reporter then asked what Bryant would say if Sherman had called him "sorry," just as Sherman did to Crabtree after the NFC Championship Game on live television.

"We have respect for one another," Bryant said. "There's really nothing like that."

Just run your offense, Sherman is not going to dictate where the ball is thrown in IMO.

He shouldn't,, I just hope Dallas's coaching staff doesn't get scared of him. Like Aaron Rogers did.. Even admitted it to him. Gutless crap there.
