Dez: Vikings won't let that happen

I thought you were saying the Cowboys didn't plan on re-signing him.

He might play on the franchise tag this year, but he will eventually be signed to a long term deal with the Cowboys.

So you don't want to use the June 1 dead line? That is what I'm talking about.

I think you're missing the very real possibility that minnesota just wants to keep their franchise running back.

All MINN has to do is pay him 13m.

They could've shown some good faith and guaranteed a big portion of his deal like BUFF did with McCoy.

All I have seen from MINN is posturing. They just saw the draft come and go with no offers.

His 2015 money is guaranteed day 1. That being said, why would they make any guarantees for future years when they don't have to?

There is 0 dead money on his contract next year, and they could want to see how their team look like next year before trying to trade him.

There is no June 1st dead line.

The franchise tag deadline is july 15th

So the bet will be settled based on the status of Dez Bryant on July 16th? Franchise tag, I win... Long Term Deal, you win. Agreed?

Edited to clarify

Everyone's contract is guaranteed Week One. That is why I said it would be a good faith gesture and showed that BUFF just did the exact thing even though they didn't have to and didn't have any of the bad blood that MINN and Peterson have had.

A new deal would go a long way to burying the hatchet.

I doubt if they even get that for him. His contract is an obstacle for team that might want to trade for him and he has not incentive to rework his contract to be traded to some other team if he really wants to play for the Cowboys.[

I thought if a player is traded only his guarantee money will stay and only his salary follows ?

Sure. Why wouldn't the Vikes let AP go to Dallas for a 3rd.

They so enjoyed the league making fun for 20 years about getting burnt in the Walker trade... they just can't wait to make a terrible trade again to help Dallas.

Well this situation is different. This isnt a contact or play time issue . The guy don't want to play for them anymore. So if he holds out what is there to do for the Vikings ? Swallow pride or get what u can for him. Luckily in today's NFL only qbs are highly value for draft picks.

Lol at you adjusting his words to fit a bet you have a better chance at winning. I see what you're doing here.
Clownish really.

He's the one that suggested a bet. I'm just trying to get an understanding of the terms. Clownish is your interference before the terms are agreed upon.

Clownish is him saying one thing and you making a bet on something different.
I get your style.

Yeah...I think I am the old man yelling at the clouds in this battle. :D

I wasn't sure exactly what he is saying... that's why I was trying to clarify. Clownish is you suspecting something that does not exist.

OK. Have it your way. You couldn't understand what you were reading. I get it. I actually understood every one of his posts easily and yet I was enjoying your trash talk to him. And then you went sideways on trying to pigeon-hole the terms that anyone who can read would already know and all I could think was- Damn this is getting Bush League. You know what he was saying. I know what he was saying. The whole board knows what he was saying! Whether they agree, or not is something else entirely.

Carry on though. Have fun.
I sincerely apologize for my rude intrusion. Clownish really...

You want in on the bet don't you?

Actually I do, but I agree with you so I would be betting against him also. Almost feels unfair...
In all honesty, if I was on his side of the argument, which is obviously different from the one you think it is, I would feel the same about you and not join, but in spirit.

I liked reading the whole sig bet tet-a-tet you two had going. You just kind of ruined it by "queering the pitch" to me.
Could have been good, but he isn't going to take you up on it now. So it's all been a wasted effort.

Unless he surprises me and throws in his hat! That would be good... For me to watch.

You think I pushed to far? Could be.
