Dak rubbing off on Dez?

I get the excitement about the rook...but next people will be telling us that the Sun rose because Dak willed it.

That's just Dez being Dez. He isn't a beloved figure in this locker room for nothing. And yet I continue to see our fans talk about him being a locker room cancer. Embarrassing.

That's what I'm trying to figure out here, but I'm getting nada.

It's easy to have a great attitude when the team is proving it can win without you.
When it comes to football. Dez has always had a great attitude.

I remember when it appeared he was having a sideline spat with Romo and the entire world went crazy. Then the audio came out. And Dez was saying "we are the best in the league. We got this. We are the best in the league."

And then everyone crawled back under their bridges. Silly stuff.

So you're comparing his play on the field, not emotions. The rest of us were talking about emotions. If you want to discuss his performance on the field in games, then I suggest you focus on threads not entitled, "Dez's great attitude" .. since that's really a completely different topic.
I was really referencing his attitude in those examples. It would not have been so embarrassing if he didn't call out those CBs before they dominated him.

Irvin, despite his bravado, usually showed respect for other players. I can't count how many times Irvin said that Jerry Rice was the greatest and even called him "God in cleats". Irvin was respectful towards Deion when they played against each other.

Dez has been very respectful of his teammates, and his opposition, before and after the games. As have the CB's that he's, both, destroyed and been contained by.

Would you consider Sherman a cancer?

I have no idea what this means, Rowdy.

It means that it's not that serious to be trying to narrow down the official numbers, or discussing it over drinks in the DFW.

"Dez has missed meetings" is more than enough.

Irvin was not respectful towards those players until late in his career. You are basically comparing a young player's actions against a veteran player's actions. Again, all of this is irrelevant. We get it .. Irvin good .. Dez bad.

I'm not a big Dez fan at all, but I can appreciate the attitude and what he brings to the team emotionally because there are not many on this team that do that and every team needs it.

If you want to talk about play, I can go find several examples of wide receivers who played much better on the field than Michael Irvin and yet did not do any of the bad off-the-field activities that Irvin did, but that would start an endless spiral probably ending up with comparing gunners and long snappers.

Why can you not just let people be happy that one of our players is showing a great attitude for the whole team and not just himself?

Leave the anti-player agendas for threads worthy of those negative discussions and hate.

OK, fair enough. I'll keep it positive.

I love Dak and Zeke.

Yep. It should have been obvious to anyone with a shred of common sense. This guy isn't T.O., so people should stop thinking in a linear fashion with it and assuming he is. If he was a problem like that, it would have been dealt with already. His teammates love him, and that's enough to me. I couldn't care less if he twists off on the media or something. Who the F cares?

Don't quote me and then talk about being a locker room cancer and "embarrassing". The only thing embarrassing is you taking things out of context, and making more out of a simple post than what it was.

Or when Romo threw the game ending INT in 2011 week 1, Dez was the first person to come to Romo's defense and preach about how much of a leader he (Romo) is and everyone in that locker room
"Knows" that "he's our guy."

It is really hard to describe what is OK and what isn't in terms of over the top behavior. There is a huge difference between Dez and Michael Irvin. It's like Justice Potter Stewart's quote about porn "I know it when I see it".

Looks like you need glasses.

Media has always tried to paint Dez as another TO. They see a big WR who is vocal so they assume he is just another Diva WR. That's furthest from the truth. Dez has never been about Dez. Dez has been always about the team.

Even his sideline rants were about trying to get the team pumped up.

With the young guns Dak and Zeke now overshadowing him, I think it will help Dez to get with the program. Now that he realizes that the team can move on without him, he will know that his "power" over management is gone.
It's common knowledge around the DFW media that Dez has missed meetings and has been late to meetings often. The actual numbers are what is unclear.

Most media are certain that it's over 20 meetings, but the time-frame seems to be unclear. Some people have claimed 20 meetings in the past year while others claim that it's over his career.
Forgive a young man 1 or 2 late arrivals.
3 late arrivals is inexcusable for someone making millions.
And it would help if he actually got healthy and started producing like an "elite" player that his fans say he is.
