The Browns have 3 picks in the 3rd round as well.
There's a good chance Bennett gets traded to one of those teams.

Randy White;3357600 said:used in here by some people in wanting to get rid of Bennett, if applied to the team's roster over the past 3 years or so, the Dallas Cowboys would currently be without it's Pro Bowl receiver ( Miles Austin ), one of it's best pass rushers ( Anthony Spencer ) and it's best CB ( Jenkins ).
Nevermind the fact that Bennett has actually contributed more in his career before any those three players did before their breakout year.
Amazing..

One of Bennett's biggest limitations is that he plays behind Witten. As long as Witten is around, Bennett will be limited in what he can produce.
I think Bennett jumps at the highest bidder when his contract is up anyhow.

Martellus Bennett, the 61st pick of the draft, has produced 35 catches for 442 yards and 4 TDs since.
Identify the bust.

Lets be perfectly clear: while Jason Witten is probably on the favorite Cowboys list of just about everyone here, hes also going to be 28 in about fifteen days. Martellus Bennett just turned 23 in March.
Thats nearly a five year gap in age for the math impaired. While Witten may turn out to be another Tony Gonzales, we just don't know for a sure thing that he'll be anywhere near the play he is when he gets past 30. That would be about the same time Bennett would be reaching his prime.
Would you rather have John Phillips or Martellus Bennett to take over then?

What team has ever drafted a TE to play 4-5 years down the road?
I'd just have to guess that the answer is: No team.
Guess how long Martellus contract is........
4 years. So Dallas can get that one last year out of him on a tender and then he takes off for greener, most likely Silver & Black pastures or whichever team decides to pay him the moon.
I'm sorry but I just don't think the guy is worth waiting around until Witten "potentially" cannot cut it.
Jason Witten doesn't miss time. He plays through injury and unless he loses a limb, he will be on the field. His game is not based on speed or any sort of super athleticism. He is an intelligent technician and you don't lose brains or technique. Barring something unforeseen, I don't know why he couldn't play until he was as old as Gonzo.
Picking up another high pick in this draft would go a lot further than sitting on thumbs waiting for one of the Wayans brothers to finally graduate in life.
about that much, that's why I agree. pass. he is worth more to us than a 5th round pick. tell me what 5th round player we can get that can contribute to this team? chances of him sticking on with the team?Bob Sacamano;3354966 said:What do you really expect for him? Be honest.
