I guess I don't get the point of trading either player. Wouldn't we just turn around and draft their replacements? How do we know they would be as good as either of those players? It just makes sense to me to keep what we already have. One is a knucklehead and one is overpaid, but they are known commodities.

27 + Bennett + Barber to Miami for #12(this is me reading between the lines here)...this is incredibly hard for me to decide..obviously it depends who is available...what do you guys think?

Jeez, that's pennies on the dollar for Barber, who's not some 30-yo broken down wreck. So the Eagles get to rape the Skins in the McNabb trade, and we just give Barber away? Pass.

i guess maybe i am the only one who will be really pissed if we trade bennett, he is young and will be a force to be reckoned with in this league, i just want it to be on the cowboys. yea i get it, most people think he is a knuckle head.

I wouldn't be pissed but I wouldn't mind at all keeping him. I happen to still think that Bennett is a worth while player who is not only a darn fine blocker but has plenty of ability to be used in the passing game when given a chance.

But if they can get another pick that could be used for a player who would give us more in return, get more of a chance to be on the field more, then I wouldn't be horribly upset about it.

Way to much to give up, IMO, to move up to #12 no matter who they draft. Rather it be Bryant, Earl Thomas, or a top flight tackle (if there is still one there) taht seems like an awful lot to move up and get that.

The problem with Marty B is if has another year like last year, his stock will be like Enron. Denver gotta be in the market now with the move of Scheffler and they have an extra two.

I dont know why people keep saying this..Miami has been very clear that they want to upgrade their TEs

Guess it depends if the Cowboys have better replacements in mind. Of course Bennett could grow a brain and become a real NFL TE someday. Although we did survive trading Fasano away. With Barbers running style he has about 2-3 years of tread left.

It's give and take, if you're fat in a postition (RB) and have the best in the NFL in another (TE), you fill the holes you have with draft picks if possible. The way I see it you don' want probowlers riding the bench, you want them on the field. As much as a lot of us like Marty and want to think he's a PBer, it's a theory at this point. MB is worth the 2nd and Marty is worth the 5th, if it's so take it. Furthermore if you can trade those for the 12th overall or so, take it. Get Dez, and a OT or S in the first and let's get that 6th ring!

Yeah thats what all the people covering them keep saying. They've given up on Fasano, he's been a massive bust there.

It might be a bit much, I can definitely see that..I don't agree that it is way too much..you know how much I want Choice to get more carries..I am just not comfortable parting with Bennett just yet..Again, it depends who is available at 12..I would definitely do it for Dez Bryant..trying to think if there is anyone else I would definitely do it for

I would like to keep both but if they get traded I hope we get some real value. In the big picture the Cowboys can afford to lose both players and not miss a beat.

Maybe in Barber's case. it's the old better a year early then a year late.

I wouldn't do those deals. I'm not the biggest MB3 fan -- talent-wise, I mean -- but if we trade him we almost have to draft a bigger, tough-type back to replace him.

Marty B, maybe, but only if he's a bigger idiot on the field than I think he is. But that's something only the coaches would know.

If we trade Marty B for a 2nd then thats a joke. Im sick and tired of this stupid TE carousel.

You know they wont be satisfied with John Phillips either. They will have to go out and spend ANOTHER high pick on a player.

You picked Bennett, he has shown talent, now stick to your guns and quit changing your mind every 2 seconds at that position PLEASE.

No offense to Phillips, but he catches like Witten and blocks like Felix Jones - so average fans think he is great. People who pay attention to the entire package will notice Bennett is a tremendous blocker. People are either going to love MB or hate him and it won't be for his football ability.

As poster Imonrashi said - I have hated Bennett since High School.

I think the deal goes down only if the Cowboys can trade up. Your right, Marty B has some real talent and it would be a shame to let him walk for a 2nd with no possibility to turn that 2nd rounder into a higher pick.
