DFW Sportsbeat - Looks like Marty B and MBIII will be traded if...

It might be a bit much, I can definitely see that..I don't agree that it is way too much..you know how much I want Choice to get more carries..I am just not comfortable parting with Bennett just yet..Again, it depends who is available at 12..I would definitely do it for Dez Bryant..trying to think if there is anyone else I would definitely do it for

I agree with you totally on Choice. he's my favorite back, by far, that the Cowboys have.

no, it would be our first PLUS Marty PLUS MB3 for 12

Don't see that. Marty B and our first would get it done. To have MB3 included the Phins would have to toss in another pick.

I definitely see it..there is too much smoke going on w these Miami rumors..my guess is that there is 1, maybe 2 guys that the cowboys are targeting at 12..if they are available when Miami is on the clock the deal will get done..if not, it wont..

just my guess

If he's healthy, he's worth more to us than simply getting a 5th rd pick. He is a good player.

The problem is he's been hurt the past two seasons and because of that, hasnt produced enough to warrant the contract he has.
well said. everyone hates on barber but he is a very effective player when healthy. unfortunately for us he consitently has been dinged and it has greatly hurt his performance

when healthy he has pro bowl talent. that is worth more then just a 5th rd to us.

with that said he is expendable with felix an choice which is why were willing to take such a low offer. i just would like for us to get fair value for him though

And the thing is its not from wear and tear. Its just been random injuries.

I just don't like moving Bennett,,, sure the guy doesn't produce much as the 2nd TE but I suspect that if Witten ever had to miss some playing time we would see Bennett take it up a notch. It would have to be an early, early second round pick for me to be able to stomach that trade.

5th for Barber? Pass...

Well, the original pick for him was in the 4th, he really has only had 2 good seasons. The last two years his health and production have pointed in the wrong direction.

Realistically you can get quality backs in the 3rd,4th and 5th rounds.

Whos giving a 2nd for Bennet? Woudnt they rather take Gronkowski?

Same for Barber. Wouldnt they rather take Blount?

I call Shenanigans

Yeah thats what all the people covering them keep saying. They've given up on Fasano, he's been a massive bust there.

Anthony Fasano and Akin Ayodele for the 100th pick in the draft. Fasano has produced 67 catches for 793 yards and 9 TDs since.

Martellus Bennett, the 61st pick of the draft, has produced 35 catches for 442 yards and 4 TDs since.

Identify the bust.

If we trade Marty B for a 2nd then thats a joke. Im sick and tired of this stupid TE carousel.

You know they wont be satisfied with John Phillips either. They will have to go out and spend ANOTHER high pick on a player.

You picked Bennett, he has shown talent, now stick to your guns and quit changing your mind every 2 seconds at that position PLEASE.
His talent has been talked about but when has he actually shown it during a game?

Dallas knew it was getting a young, immature player when turning in the card for Martellus Bennett.

Can they possibly be that down on Tellus for having a sophomore slump when he flashed his talent as a rookie through training camp and pre-season last year?

If they are convinced M80 hasn't grown up and can get value, I'll understand it.

I hope we haven't seen the last of Bennett as a Cowboy.

So you are comparing a guys 3rd year and 4th year #'s and a guy that starts vs a guy in his second year who has put up better numbers as a backup his first two years than Fasno did as a backup in his first two years

So do you have anything that is relevant to your argument are you throwing out blind numbers with out using them inn proper context.

Hum I wonder which one that would be

regular season '08

09/21 Green Bay 01 - 37
10/19 St. Louis 2 - 67, 1TD

Martellus Bennett had 6 receptions of 20+ yards as a rookie in limited snaps.

He has shown he can block and that is what he is asked to do most of the time.

He is not just a good blocking Tight End he is way above average at it.

So how did you guys come up with us getting the Dolphins 12th pick?

Anthony Fasano was a "bust" as a Dallas Cowboy because he couldn't focus and accept being a back-up to Jason Witten.

He didn't put up those kind of yards in Big D.

Fozzy had 28 receptions for 269 yards and 1 touchdown in two seasons with the Boys (32 games).

Martellus Bennett has 35 receptions for 442 yards and 4 touchdowns with Dallas (30 games).

rumors about dallas and miami trading have been floating around on numerous occassions...this report indicates Marty B and Barber might be traded, it just so happens that when you couple Marty B and Barber with our first rounder it just about comes out to be almost exactly the value of the 12th pick in the draft...just putting 2 and 2 together
