He is not just a good blocking Tight End he is way above average at it.

John Garrett said the team has been surprised that Martellus Bennett has actually made more strides as a blocker since joining the team than he has as a receiver.

They expected him to struggle more with becoming an NFL blocker.

Garrett also attributed Bennett's struggles in the passing game last season to lost confidence. He felt Tellus got down on himself after some early drops and made things worse for himself.

Anthony Fasano and Akin Ayodele for the 100th pick in the draft. Fasano has produced 67 catches for 793 yards and 9 TDs since.

Martellus Bennett, the 61st pick of the draft, has produced 35 catches for 442 yards and 4 TDs since.

Identify the bust.

Let's be realistic.

Bennett plays behind the best TE in the NFL. How good should we expect his numbers to be?

Fasano's weren't all that great behind Witten either.

rumors about dallas and miami trading have been floating around on numerous occassions...this report indicates Marty B and Barber might be traded, it just so happens that when you couple Marty B and Barber with our first rounder it just about comes out to be almost exactly the value of the 12th pick in the draft...just putting 2 and 2 together

Ok that would be the all time rip off.

Marty B and Barber in a package deal are worth the 12 pick.

But to get a 2nd and 5th just to move up? Awful trade for us. Absolutely terrible.

They were markedly worse.

Fozzy had 28 receptions for 269 yards and 1 touchdown in two seasons with the Boys (32 games).

Martellus Bennett has 35 receptions for 442 yards and 4 touchdowns with Dallas (30 games).

you must be kidding if you think Bennett and Barber are worth the 12th pick. I am not suggesting we accept the trade..like I said earlier, it is a tough call..but by no means do I see it as a complete rip off either way

Absolutely not.

They aren't going to draft ANYBODY at 12 that is going to give them the kind of production those 2 players will.

It would be the worst trade of Jerry Jones career if he gave up a 1, Barber, and Bennett for the 12th pick. Absolutely insane.

Im all for a trade but lets not screw our 53 man roster up in the process.

ESPN if there were a Dallas/Miami 1st round trade: 90% Jerry Jones/Bill Parcells drama. 10% Information.

NFLN would go 50/50.

I do agree w you here..it would be incredibly hard to justify the deal..but I do think there are 1 or 2 players in this draft it might be worth pulling the trigger for..

Ask them why, they're the one's who say they are disappointed with him.

When Marty was out I didnt even notice.

When MB3 was out, Choice filled in admirably. You can bump Felix and Choice up a notch and draft a powerful/blocking 3rd RB late in the draft.*

2nd and a 5th to move up isn't that unrealistic. On the draft chart, a mid second round pick is worth 420 and a mid 5th is worth 34. Add those values to the 680 value of #27 and it comes up to 1134. The 12th is worth 1200. So even value would be around 13th or 14th pick. And that's if you believe MB III is only worth a fifth.

They can have them both for that price. Marion the Pedestrian just isn't getting it done anymore and I question the mental stability of Martellus Bennett.

no, you misunderstood..I said MB + MB3 + 27 was worth the 12th pick..

Catch said MB + MB 3 with no 1st rounder = 12th pick..I said no chance

Im with you on trading Barber. But im not with you on trading Bennett.

Trading Bennett for a 2nd just to move up would be insane.

If we trade Bennett it better be for another player that isn't a TE.

you don't need a blocking HB when you have either a FB or TE on the field. Look use the 2nd and 5th and get a tackle and S, trade up and get Dez. I'm telling you players aren't worth anything except insurance sitting on the bench. It's a given that Felix will be the #1 this year. This is a fat draft take advantage and get some players!!!!!

I do agree that it would be dumb to just trade Bennett for a 2nd and use it on another TE.

Or they may just feel like Phillips is ready to move into the #2 spot.

I hear you man..I am not down w moving Bennett either..unless that 1 player is available and I would have to think REAL hard about it..

what do you mean trading him for another player? like who? I would rather use him to move up in the draft personally..and ONLY to move up in rd 1...and ONLY if that 1 player we covet is there, whomever that player is..

I dont think these trade will happen but I wouldnt hate trading Barber and drafting our 3rd RB late. Like Dixon, Tate, or Blount.

And If Bennet were traded Id hope we wouldnt draft another one unless it were one of the TE/FB hybrids later on that can fill 2 spots. That way we can carry another kicker if we have to and cut Deon.

It's possible. I'm just saying don't send him off just to draft another TE with the pick.
