If that throw was on target hr would have been toast he had no clue on that play. He turned his head toward the ball as it glanced off the receivers hands.
If I remember correctly it seemed like Mo fell down on the play so JJ reacted and tried to cover the WR. JJ with the receiver and seen the receiver turn his head so he reacted and turned his head to try and locate the ball (probably saved him a penalty). At this point at least he's there whereas last year he would have been 10 yds away watching a wide open TD.

When Church was ruled out He said that the Cowboys are fine at SS. :omg: Im not trying to be Debbie Downer I just was shocked at that comment. So ladies and gents what are we going to do about SS

Collinsworth watches the games of the teams he is covering each week. His was an informed opinion. I agree with him. Church has been playing better but so has Wilcox. Whatever they are paying Greg Williams is worth it.

Wilcox was playing a deep half and picked the guy that came into his zone. Someone underneath should have been there covering him or passing him off.

I thought it was an excellent play. It hard enough to pick someone up in space with help providing leverage. To do that in isolation showed great technique and athleticism.

Carr and Claiborne switching sides has helped. Byron has been a glove in coverage. But I'm not sure what to attribute Wilcox and Churches play to.
I think Wilcox's improvement could be a result of better play as a unit. If Bryon is playing better and able to help direct him pre-snap, that's something. The better CB play helps also. I think it's a matter of playing to strengths and knowing assignments. Wilcox is better closer to the line and having Byron back at FS and playing well, allows Wilcox to at to his own strengths better.

Not sure why you would think Collinsworth has any special insight compared to core posters here. I kind of laughed too, but Wilcox does have starts on his resume. A lot of backup safeties dont...so it could be worse.

Wilcox will knock the **** out of you. He brings it when he arrives at the ball.

Love that. Ballcarriers hear footsteps with guys like JJ roaming around in the secondary.

However, hiis angles have been terrible in the past but playing SS and just more experience has helped that a lot. He's not a bad SS IMO.

They'll likely play a combination of Heath and Wilcox to cover for Church... which is really a good thing because they have different skillsets which Marinelli can use situationally. They will probably activate Frazier on game days now too.

Dallas will be fine at safety.

Here is the thing, when you have two SS's playing, which is what you get with Church and WIlcox at the same time, you are going to have guys getting burned. With Jones able to cover, it opens up Wilcox and Church to do what they do best. I love Church, think he is a good player and a stand up guy, but I don't think we are going to miss a ton with him out. He definitely is a a surer tackler than Wilcox. We also will get a chance to maybe some development from Frazier.

With Claiborne playing so well and going out, we are pretty fortunate to have Scandrick come back and Brown look so good. Again I think we can survive this.

Who would have thought that our secondary depth would be one of our strengths?

Agree. Nice to have some depth instead of scrubbing the waiver wire for replacements
