I miss the beach in SoCal but I miss the Sierra Nevadas even more. The mountains here (Blue Ridge Mtns in NC) are nice but they just don't compare.
It's funny, people here tell me I'm still near the beach. They must be from Iowa or something. 2 hours away isn't what I call close, we used to ride our skateboards to the beach when I was a kid.![]()
I lived in Paris, Texas for a few months in 1980 (the hottest summer on record, we were there from June - Sept, DOH!).
