Did anyone notice how Brent did in his debut?

So what's the plan?
Trade him for a seventh round pick?
Just cut him and try again next draft?

really??None of the above...you hope he gets better week 2 week and proves to his team and everyone else he belongs on the starting rotation alot of people had this guy pegged in as the starter b4 ever even playing a snap, i did 2.

How does a 7th round pick perform on Injured Reserve? Can you post some Youtube links so I can personally scout that level of performance? Thanks in advance.

We need pass rushers. Jerry should have made a trade before the deadline for a pass rusher like he did for Charles Haley.

That would be ideal with Durant and Lee healthy.
With Hitchens and Ro playing beside him at Backer, Carter is arguably our best coverage guy.
You can sneak him in some but just as a change up.

I'd use more zone blitzes and drop our DEs who suck at pass rushing into coverage more.
Spencer would be really solid at it since he played OLB in a 3-4 and covered a lot.

I'd also blitz Wilcox some and man up Church.

Moore is a good blitzer off the nickel/dime set inside.

Seems as if Philly knew when we were going to zone blitz, I believe they caught Mincy 2x out in the flats with a TE, maybe both for a 1st down even (?)

Problem I see there is we're not getting anything off the edge. The best pass rushers for this team are playing DT & there's no consistent threat from either DE spot.

Excellent point.....................the Tampa 2 scheme we are using is total trash if your DEs suck

That should be priority number one in the offseason.

I'll trust the thought process of McClay and Marinelli----I have to believe they told Jerry there was no "low hanging fruit" pass rushes that would help more than what we had.......

Brent is a good two down gap plugging DT. At worst, you have at least Crawford and Brent inside. A decision will have to be made on Melton's option. T.McClain is an OK rotational DT. The problem is outside. Jerry & co. need to invest premium FA $ and draft picks on DEs.

my opinion on dlaw is simple..expectations were high, anyone can say well hes a rook or hes been hurt. But in all honesty he was someone when we drafted we wanted to make an immediate impact , and he has not been that

While you are correct let's not forget it's not his fault.

Honestly I don't think we'll be hurting for 3-tech DTs remember Okoye is gonna be in the mix too next season

Hopefully, he is in good enough condition to play against Philly's offensive scheme. With their super fast paced offense, the defensive players can't rotate as frequently as normal.

yeah man that's a good point, and even then I think this team has had it's problems with hurry up offenses regardless of who's in there

Which is reason to allow Romo to run some 'up tempo' offense. Luck, P Manning, Wilson, and Philly create problems with this. At times I think the league is going to do something to minimize it to an extent.

He is at best when we run our 2 minute offense.

this is true but its not the teams fault either, so therefore i would rather make a judgment on him of a whim then stick around and find out your have a bad seed....its like a garden your keep the ones that sprout and the rest well u pluck...

up tempo offense is easy to take care of when you have a solid running game, we were way off last time we played the eagles, but i dont think it was the up tempo offense that killed us, like garrett said its lack of execution...a well executed drive ....... 3:00 to 4:00 min....a bad drive 0:50 sec on a three and out...we cant allow that with this team, not just against the eagles any "good" "playoff" team

If Brent got tired during the Chicago game (deservedly so), then when he is in the philly game, they won't be able to sub out as much with their up-tempo style...hopefully the big fella can have a positive impact on the game for Dallas
