Did anyone watch the Cowboys-Vikings replay last night?

I checked out some of it and plan to watch it some more today. But in the short time I did watch it, what jumped out to me was the play of current free agent DE Everson Griffen against Tyron Smith. He truly gave our left tackle everything that he could handle, and then some. To be honest, the Vikings front in general outplayed our offensive line. Zeke and the running game ran into a brick wall all night and Minnesota was also able to maintain an excellent pass rush as well.

Watching Griffen perform so well, it reaffirms my beliefs that signing him would be the icing on the cake to a near-perfect offseason. It would solidify the RDE spot and take away the current uncertainty and guesswork at the position.

Free up the money and go sign a true, available, quality RDE.

And yet almost 2 months after voiding his contract NO team has signed him. Hmmm, might it be that the past two seasons he had single digit sacks? Here's a thought for you, don't you think Jerry, Stephen, McCarthy and probably the Cowboys janitor know he's available and have decided for their reasons, not yours, that they don't want him.

I'd be okay with signing him, but you won't be able to pick guys like him up if they sign Dak.

Yes you can

Dude isn’t going to get more than a one year deal at this point. It might be harder to sign him to a long term extension after this year when we sign Dak though...if he warrants it.

And does that it make it right in the mind of someone like you?

Do you sim[ply rubber stamp what someones else thinks rather than thinking for yourself?

If so, don't expect everyone else to shut off the brain the way you do.

Well that's why I've kind of moved passed him. McCarthy has a history facing him and George Edwards knows him better than anyone in this organization. Doesn't seem to be interest. Not sure if that's confidence in Aldon and Gregory or just not a fan of Griffin.

I think it has everything to do with asking price.

In the same way that players like Clowney and Logan Ryan are still available. Their current asking prices are too high and no teams are willing to meet them.

No I just put a heck of a lot more faith and importance in what professionals do than what people that practice their craft from their couch.

Yeah, Dak's franchise tag is already accounted for and if an extension gets worked out, that number will come down. A signing like this would not be connected.

That could be the case but I also feel like since those guys are younger they can hold out for a bigger pay day. Griffin and his camp have to be more realistic about his situation with him being older veteran. But hell maybe he saw what guys like Robert Quinn got and feel he should get more.

That and you're very clearly a miserable person by nature.

And those people you place you unquestioned trust in haven't won anything in over 25 years, in case you forgot.

And they also rubber-stamped Taco Charlton, in case you forgot that too.

And Stephen Jones is a "professional" because his last name is Jones. In case you forgot that as well.

His agents are professionals as well.

Silly to think he doesn’t have offers out there though they might not be to his liking. He will either settle for a one year deal or skip camp and may get a little more if someone gets hurt.

Sometimes veterans do this because they don’t wanna do training camp.

I watched that game about 5 times last year. I saw the same thing. The Vikings defense really handled handled the Cowboys offensive line. What stood out to me is how the Vikings LBs were clean the entire game. Rarely did a Cowboys offensive linemen get off his block and get to the second level before the LB was able to make the play.

On the opposite side of the ball the Vikings OL was able to get out and cut off Smith and LVE, especially in the half. I thought that game epitomized the Cowboys problems on defense for the entire year.

I thought that was a game the Cowboys should have won if not for some sloppiness at crucial times, including some very questionable play calling in the red zone.
