Did Manziel to Dallas just get closer to happening?

I think Cleveland is going to take Lynch. Lynch is compared to Roethlisberger and I think Jackson likes the bigger stronger QBs. I also think the new "GM" and his analysis skills are going to focus on physical attributes more than college production. I also think Cleveland will want the bigger/stronger QB due to the weather in Cleveland and after watching Ben do it in their conference for so long.

Lynch just by stature alone is similar to the other SB winning QB in the AFC North (Flacco) as well. The pre-draft process will tell the story. All about how these QB's are evaluated by everyone looking for one.

One can argue that Goff (6'4 210lbs) could be Hugh Jackson's choice because physically he is more like Andy Dalton (6,2 216lbs). Who knows...

Let me be clear about what j think of JFFs potential: I would resign Brandon Weeden before JFF

LOL! Somehow I don't believe you truly mean that. :p

JF may be a fool but he is a talented, dynamic fool with upside. Did I mention the leash would be very short? More like a choke collar but he might enjoy that.

2016 Dallas Cowboys QB Depth Chart:
1. Tony Romo
2. Robert Griffin III
3. Johnny Manziel
4. Tim Tebow

The media wouldn't know what to do with themselves.

It would also be a lot of fun on here if that happened. The meltdowns would be epic.

But Carson Palmer (6'5" , 235) is the QB he is most associated with, he inherited Dalton.

It's been a rough go for Manziel on and off the field even that water bottle he threw at a heckling fan was picked off.

Any QB drafted in the first round by Cleveland needs to pull a John Elway and Eli Manning and refuse to play for them. Cleveland is a deathbed for QBs.

And to this day I thought that was straight BS what Archie and Eli did. If That would've been any other player trying to manipulate the draft like that they would've been killed by the media especially ESPN.

Can you imagine if Jameis Winston would've tried to pull a stunt like that?

Maybe not Bark...have you seen the crop of UFA QB's scheduled to hit the market in 2016? Yikes!

There's:
Sam Bradford
Drew Stanton
Chad Henne
Matt Moore
Luke McCown
Matt Schaub
Matt Cassel
Charlie Whitehurst
Matt Flynn
Brandon Weedon

Just to name a few. I left off names that either won't be leaving their team (like: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brock Osweiler and Kirk Cousins) or due to age aren't really an option for Dallas in 2016 (Matt Hasslebeck and Michael Vick) or just aren't really viable options (Case Keenum, Chase Daniels, T.J. Yates, Jimmy Clausen, Dan Orlovsky, Joe Webb, Thaddeus Lewis, et al).

Robert Griffin starts to look pretty appealing when one looks at what could be backing up #9 in 2016. I shudder to think what the team would do next season with an inadequate backup and a #4 pick in the draft "future franchise QB" who has to be thrust into games if #9 goes down for multiple games.

Well looking at that list , you may be right

How exactly do you define "viable?"

Who knows...you could be right and he likes bigger QB's. He did Coach Flacco in Baltimore as well so...

But as it relates to inheriting Dalton, he may have but he's been with him all but one season of the Red Rifles career. For all intents and purposes...that's his QB.

A QB has to be thought of pretty highly to pull a stunt like that and have it work to where it forces a trade. The Cowboys offered 3 starting players for John Elway including Danny White. Their offer was better than what Denver offered the Colts.

I mean it
JFF not only does not have the talent to play QB at a high level in the NFL but jerry will think of him as a future starter (preventing us from getting another qb) but would also take the distractions and media circus to a completely new level on a team that cannot manage the media attention it already gets

This would be disastrous

The true definition of the word..."capable of working successfully". The QB's I placed in that category, at least to me, are no different than Weeden and below Cassel.

Well then I disagree; he does have the talent to play at a productive level.

If it becomes Jerry's decision alone, I'd say the chances are good he lands in Dallas if that is where he wishes to play. I'm not saying I like it; I don't. I'm saying the risk may be worth the reward for Jerry and there is potential for disaster.

Hugh Jackson wants to move on from Manziel. Well, I think Goff or Lynch will definitely get drafted by Cleveland now unless Jackson thinks he can work with RG3.

Rumor has it as Goff but rumors are the only game in town for 99+% of the world right now.

Who really cares. None of these qbs are worth a top 10 pick. I'll wait until round 2 or 3.

I agree that if all goes well (which is unlikely given his history and the presence of jerry) that JFF could be productive but I don't think he can take an NFL team to the SB and that should be the standard when selecting a qb for the future of this team

Given the extremely low likelihood of this and the certainty of the arrival of the media circus, I would absolutely hate to have him come here

I have to believe that someone as buttoned down as Garrett also does not want him here
