Did the 49ers drop out of the equation in NFC?

SF plays Tampa next week.
This could get interesting.

There defense is better than ours, if we can't score any points, to me they are still the biggest threat NFC wise.

Not really, they aren’t a QB driven team. That defense along with getting the ball out fast to their playmakers should be fine.

Nope...if he comes in, knows the playbook, makes plays when he needs to, while limiting mistakes, they are still dangerous.

Drive the bus young sir. Drive the bus.

Nope, they are still the NFC favorites to me. They have a truly dominant D, and Deebo and McCaffrey and a physical offense. QB was never the reason for anything they accomplish.

I think SF could beat Viking and maybe the GOAT... I don't see them beating us this year, or going into Philadelphia and winning. "IF" they make the dance, (which they will), with a third string QB I give them 50/50 shot to do anything. Their defense is tough, but I feel our offense is too explosive for them to keep up with a third string QB. Just my humble opinion obviously....

I honestly think Eagles lose to Giants, and us and we win out, and snag #1 overall seed....

My final 4:

Cowboys / Eagles

Bills / Bengals

It only means that they will run even more against our defense should we meet them in the playoffs
If they pick up Baker and allow him to run the ball, I think Baker can be a good QB for them.

They're still in play, but having to start Brock Purdy under center has made them less dangerous.

Their margin for error is razor thin. If they get down at all and have to throw the ball even a little bit they will be in trouble. It is completely unreasonable to expect them to run the table in the playoffs without being put in a passing situation even 1 time.

Uh no? They won 33-17 yesterday.

I don’t understand why everyone thinks they’re suddenly out of contention. Jimmy G wasn’t even really the reason they were heading to the playoffs anyways. Their defense, coaching, tough attitude, and run game is what was keeping them fueled. That backup looked pretty serviceable to me last night. Maybe not as good as Jimmy G but certainly not this huge downgrade everyone is making him out to be.

Even if they drop a few games, their division isn’t really that tough. The Seahawks are their only real competitors right now and I’m not sure how they’re gonna hold up cause they’ve looked wobbly these last few weeks.

don’t count them out.

You do know Tua left the game with an ankle injury don’t you?
Jimmy G was playing well and was part of the reason they are 8-4.
They will still probably make the playoffs by default and even win a few more games.

But yet our SF fans and slobberers on here want to say they are still the best in the NFC.
A great defense can only take you so far. Still need a very good offense. Theirs just took a big hit.
