The defense was not the problem against the 49ers.I'm glad we went with Mazi. We spent years stacking the deck on offense and became something akin to a football version of the mavs. Nice offense, but when it gets hectic in the playoffs, the offense gets shut down and our defense gets gashed.
Here's why.....Seems like every year teams are jumping up in front of us to take our top guy.
Now I’m happy with smith but I wonder if dalton was the pick…
But it definitely seems like every team in the nfl knows who we’re picking for some reason…
Cooks is a big upgrade at WR2. They're likely going to add starters at OG and TE, and more speed at backup RB.The defense was not the problem against the 49ers.
Yeah, you NEVER draft a TE in the first unless he's a generational talent. I'm so excited we got a DT run stopper! This defense is going to stomp opponents flat.Hahaha...a few of us told you TE aficionados that the Cowboys were not in need of drafting a TE. So glad they finally addressed our DT position.
Personally I'm fine with passing on TE, but that doesn't really make sense though to portray it as this being proof of anything. It was one round. Regardless of what they say they might have taken Kincaid or they might take a TE today. Maybe they just loved Mazi? That wouldn't be mean they aren't also in need of drafting a TE. It's not Walmart. The need and the players on board both play a role in who you take.Hahaha...a few of us told you TE aficionados that the Cowboys were not in need of drafting a TE. Like the tootsie pop commercial says, "the world may never know". I like the round 1 pick myself. I am glad they did not select a TE.Nope. Listening to the presser and conversation afterwards it sounds like the Cowboys had decided against TE at 26.
The Bills unnecessarily traded up with Jacksonville.
This is what I don't get with this team. They fall in love with a guy and are all giddy when he's available at their pick. But the problem is they sometimes rank guys way higher than any other team.If Mazi Smith was indeed 14th on their board that seems unlikely.

I think so. This is the third time this is happened to Jerry and he still doesn't learn. Philly jumped us to get Clark the last time.Seems like every year teams are jumping up in front of us to take our top guy.

Sometimes I wonder if the highly public chatter we give the front office so much grief about, is actually mis-direction for other teams. Make it look like they want a TE in round 1, triggering Buffalo to jump ahead (unnecessarily) but then they select a DT?Nope. Listening to the presser and conversation afterwards it sounds like the Cowboys had decided against TE at 26.

I think they should have taken the best player available which was Nolan smith. You can never have too many pass rushers in this league.
I'm sure the eagles had their eyes on someone else with their last pick. But they saw Nolan smith fall and jumped all over it.
I don't think Dallas ever has a feel for the draft. They find a guy they like and draft him if he's still there, regardless of who may be falling and provide better value.
Our run d is flat out awful. So I get the drafting of a big dt.The issue I have with Nolan smith is he doesn’t really solve a need. Doesn’t help the run d. we have plenty of pass rush already.
And I like Nolan I think he’s a high motor high character guy.
