Did you not believe after 24-0 in 1991 or 31-7 in 1992?

I know that there is a lot of doubt and people are still traumatized from the Thanksgiving game. But there have been similar scenarios where the Eagles have crushed Dallas only for Dallas to punch them in the mouth in the rematch. After losing 24-0 at home in 91 where the "Great Wall of Dallas" surrendered 11 sacks to the vaunted Eagle D only to crush the Eagles at the Vet in the rematch 25-13 with Steve Beuerlein at QB managing the game and playing mistake free football. Eagles also crushed Dallas 31-7 in the first meeting in 1992 only for Dallas to return the favor 20-10 in the rematch 3 weeks later and then beat them when it really counted 34-10 in the post season. I don't know about you but I feel the team knows this game is a huge game for the franchise and will respond by punching the Eagles in the mouth and take control of this division until the end of the season. This will change the way people view this club in big games down the stretch. I don't know about you all but I am pretty fired up and I am sure the team is as well!

This can be that game, when we really emerge, and get over the way the media, fans, and others as they see us. They already have, but many still have their doubts and / or biases.
We got past the 8-8 season mark, but that means nothing at this point. This is by far the biggest game to prove we belong atop the division as well as the NFC.

Just go out, execute the game plan, and we will win. Normally I'm amped up either that we will win, or I am worried we will lay another egg. But right now I'm more relaxed and content, just waiting for game time.

they were young, full of fire and going places, I could see that in the 1-15 season so I believed long before that but I admittedly never saw winning 3 Super Bowls in 4 years

I agree. Also don't forget we are undefeated when Romo is (relatively) healthy.

49-ers - wasn't ready
Washington - got hurt - wasn't right
Arizona - 'Nuff said
Philly - didn't take shot - couldn't handle the turnaround

I bet his QBR is top three in the league in every other game and nobody has really shut us down. I think we're ready to play and the defense will be will be different. I hope the outcome is.

I think both teams want it a ton. They know what the stakes are.
I hope the easy time that the eagles had on that Thanksgiving week will make them at least slightly more confident than they should be.

I truly wasn't worried about the 31-7 drubbing by the Eagles. That was Herschel Walker's payback game and the emotions were running high. But I could sense Jimmy Johnson had the Cowboys on the right track. Besides, the Cowboys were healthy and young at the key positions of QB, RB and WR and had a dominant defensive pass rusher in Charles Haley, and the Cowboys had superb coaching. I could see from the Commanders game the year before where we shocked the then 11-0 Skins that Jimmy Johnson and company knew what they were doing. I could see how the Boys would endeavor to win offense, defense and special teams from their drubbing of the Skins on Monday Night to open the 92-93 season.

But with this team ... I have doubts about the coaching even though Jason and company have done a pretty good job so far. I'm concerned about Romo's age and mobility and him taking unnecessary hits, and I fear our pass rush - or the lack thereof. The only confidence I have in this game is the offensive line. If this unit can open holes and give Murray lanes to run through and can keep rushers off Romo, I think we can win it. I think the running game and sustained drives energize the defense.

So while I think the Cowboys can win this game and have them winning by 27-24, I'm not as sure as I was wen the Cowboys of 92 met the Eagles a second time.

I believed in the team before the 1st of the 3 Super Bowl wins in the Jerry era. I attended training camp for the 1st time in 1992 and there were about a dozen fans there.

What happened over two decades is totally irrelevant today--only the jerseys are the same and not entirely.

Maybe in terms of the actual players but it does make the point that teams can get thoroughly dominated by division rivals, only to come back and return the favor in equally convincing fashion.

Agreed. Why some think the Eagles players don't want this game as bad as the Cowboys I will never understand.
This is/should be a dog fight. Because the Philly fans might be nervous means nothing.

Early season game and the Eagles were being hyped as the next NFC east team to win the SB. Cowboys were up and coming and you could tell even with the loss there was something special there. That's why everyone thought they were a year away and it was Phillys time.

were you able to go to the free pep rally @ Texas Stadium before the championship game in SF?

For those that didn't, you would have been shocked. IIRC, there were over 60,000 people there and the fans were crazy and loud. There was so much pent up hate for the Niners and thirst for winning because of the drought of the 80's and that damn "catch", I'm not sure we'll ever see the same level of passion

A lot of that was probably due to it being free and attended by so many passionate blue collar fans that never got to go to the games, it was a blast!

I get it. But evaluate these two teams today. What do people see that leads them to believe that is going to happen now?

The only things I can see is the possibility that the short turn around really took a toll on the Cowboys in the last game (which I still find troubling since I don't think the few extra hours the iggles had should have made that big of a difference) combined with the 10 days between games this time makes a big enough difference for Dallas to pull off a W but I don't see any way we do to them what they did to us but I admittedly run pessimistic

Huge difference......Early 90's the window was opening. Now....this is the last go round for Romo. Window about to close.

Let's see -- we have a better QB, better offensive line, better wide receivers, better tight ends, better lead running back, and a better kicker. So there's that.

I trust the offense to deliver a better performance then last time but I'm not sure I trust the D to do the same

And yet we lost 33-10 at home the last time we played them. If you want to blame the short turn around, OK.

Thanks for that history reminder. Even Jimmy J has stated that there were many nail biters, and 7 pt of less wins by the Super Bowl Dominant teams.
