I had no problems with Reid challenging the spot. :D

Looking back I totally agree with Reid challenging the spot:D

I thought it was closer but still short of the first down. McFlabb didn't get any push and he did land on one of his players but the doorknob forget to stretch his hand out and instead just kind of slid laterally.

There were two PIs on Roy that could've cost us TDs.

The one in the first half...and one to start the fourth quarter. The DB was all over Roy on that play...hands all over him. If that's called, then we have a first and goal at the eight.

In all honesty, yes I thought the spot was wrong. I also thought Samuel interfered on the pass to RW in the end zone. So if the Eagles don't mind *****ing about BOTH calls: No Problem.

Otherwise, cry me a river.

like the announcer said, you could not see McNabb's left hand. if it was touching turf, he would be down there and he would of been short. Replay rules say it has to be CONCLUSIVE, no doubt like a jury about someone's guilt. I have to agree with the replay call, it was not conclusive because his left arm could of been holding him up off the turf. so bs on the bad call stuff.

Agree about if you wanna call ref's out, then lets call them out for everything especially that bad missed call at end of first half as you mention.

To be honest, yes I did based on the TV red line. But keep in mind that the red line on TV is unofficial. To overturn a call, there must be conclusive evidence and apparently there wasn't. The announcers were saying the bird's beak was the first down spot, but they don't really know what the officials considered to be the spot.

There isn't a game where there isn't some controversy in terms of calls, placement of the ball etc...It's simply a reality...Very surprised by the placement of the ball because it did look like McNabb got the 1st down...But you know how these things go, there were calls here and there that could've gone the other way too

It was clearly a first down. Now if Romo was the QB stretching for it most here would say he got robbed. If McNabb is not touching the field and he is not touching the ground than the ball should have been marked where he scooted an extra foot. Bad call but I like the results.

At least we can say we are even for the non-call on Roy in the end zone.

I disagree tuna,

You don't know where his left arm ended up.

You can see clearly that the left arm is closer to the ground than the rest of his body and seems to be a large enough opening to the ground for it to have hit the ground. You just don't know where it ended up meaning inconclusive evidence.

I think they could have called it either way. The thing is this. If we had came in and whacked him hard while he was on the pile we'd prolly get flagged. Second like they said on the telecast we have zero clue where his other hand was. There was not definitive evidence to overturn the call so the call stays what was called on the field.

If you watch the replay where they show his arm and the helmet painted midfield; and the first down marker it looks like he reached it before being touched down.

Look at the two pictures. The first from when they measured.

http://i32.***BLOCKED***/albums/d2/superpunk2884/Cowboys/SPOT1.jpg

The 1st down is past the white on the tip of the Eagles emblem.

http://i32.***BLOCKED***/albums/d2/superpunk2884/Cowboys/SPOT2.jpg

At BEST, you can say that the tip of the ball is just shy of the end of the white on the Eagles emblem.

Either way they were going to turn it over on downs. But, if the ref had decided that it was indiputable that they could move it forward a foot, then Reid could have kept his timeout.

It amazes me how the eagles fans are crying over the refs. They are in denial. How can they cry over the refs in a game where the refs missed a TD call at the end of the first half.(the one on Roy).

You forgot to mention the offensive P.I. on Celek for hitting Sensabaugh in the face, then pushing off to get wide open in the end zone...

Then they turn around and call it on Witten. I thought the officiating was bad, both ways though.

I went back and looked at the chains when they measured (before the challenge) and took note of how far the chains were. They were about 1-2 inches in front of the logo spot where we could see the nose of the football land when McNabb's elbow hit. If the ball was spotted when McNabb's right elbow was seen to land, it was still going to be about an inch or two short. Moot point...

tuna, in the above photo, Brooking has contact in that picture. So if that left elbow does hit the ground, thats the spot.

Personally, i know that you are not "down" until your body contacts the ground and you are contacting... but at what point does he lose his forward progress? He had no body parts on the ground (they were all on other players) and no way to improve his progress, and he was contacted by more than one defender... so perhaps that rule needs to change...

I think it was close but it is also very difficult to over rule. Had the ball be spotted in favor of the eagles I doubt a replay would over turn that.

Okay, I'll say it. The refs blew the call and robbed Philly of the game because they are obviously superior because they beat the Giants and they have McNabb and we only have Romo and they blitz and they have the young speedy receivers.
