I guess you see yourself dying on Prescott Hill as a noble gesture. I prefer what's best for the Dak less Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys that is.
And that is not stuck in a wild card ceiling while married to SleepNumber.
To each his own.
Wildcard ceiling? Leaving out some correct data, huh?

I think you're failing to grasp the ingenious nature of Jerry and Stephen's 30-year plan, as we enter year 28.

Year 28 - NFCCG appearance
Year 29 - SB appearance
Year 30 - Lombardi

Two years in a row we end the season in the playoffs with Dak putting up a 60something QB rating against SF.

That's more than a fluke. That's a serious signal. To extend Dak now is to accept that it's totally acceptable to lock for the next 5 years a significant risk of mediocrity, at the end of which we'd be looking at *more* years of mediocrity to rebuild.

I'm not saying mediocrity is certain. But two years in a row of worse than mediocrity puts the burden of proof on those who expect anything better.

This should be a prove it year for Dak and McCarthy. If they can't prove it in the playoffs, it's time to move on from both of them.
Wait - I’m confused -
2 years 12-5 record is mediocrity ?
Last year wild card round loss
This year wc round win and division round loss is considered two years of mediocrity ?
Disappointing - absolutely
Not getting to where we want to get ? 100%
But mediocrity ???
By no means am I happy or satisfied with last years results or this years but I wouldn’t say it’s mediocrity -
If im being honest any year the cowboys don’t win the Super Bowl is extremely disappointing but hardly mediocrity
Lol

The only problem with Prescott is they ask him to do more than he is capable of because they think he is better than he is.

Subpar coaching is much more of a problem than Prescott himself, and probably his salary for that matter.

He had a 148 rating against Tampa Bay in the playoffs. So yes, it’s a fluke.
His career passer rating in playoff games is 92.3. I agree that his 148 (actually 143.3) versus Tampa Bay was a fluke.

Well he’s not going anywhere so deal with it. And if you don’t think they can win with him then go away until he’s gone.
Sorry Rocky, not going anywhere and what a foolish thing to say. That's like me saying you should leave since your a Dak strap and we lose every year becasue of him in the playoffs.

Both statements are foolish so just grow up.

Agreed. In 2016 the offense felt powerful and repeatable. It felt like an offense that could go for as long as necessary without laying an egg. This new offense with Super Dak feels like walking a tight rope wire. I have no confidence it can make it all the way to a super bowl let alone win one. The only thing I can say for sure is we will pile up awesome regular season stats.

Dak currently has the second highest cap hit in the NFL in 2023 and 2024. They put themselves in a position where they have little choice but to extend him.
Not true. There are 2 void years at the end of his contract.
- They can push 2023 and 2024 cap dollars in those years as dead-money.
- If they replace him in 2025 with a rookie contract QB, then it balances out.
